I do know the difference. That’s why I use the word ‘forum,’ not ‘site,’ when I describe the 'non-Catholic religions" forum as the 'non-Catholic religions forum," not the 'non-Catholic religions site."
The thing is, inviting people into a ‘non-Catholic religions’ forum and then whopping them upside the head (after they are in and expecting courtesy, charity and fair discussion of non-Catholic religions) with the notion that we are here by sufferance only, and that we must at all times allow our own faiths to be slammed while we must be unctuously respectful of the Catholics who insult and degrade our beliefs…well, that is not honest.
If that’s what you want to do, fine, but you should, as I mentioned, change the name to “Non-Catholic religions, but not really” forum.
I do, by the way, appreciate your quote of the rules. Perhaps, now that it is actually seen, it will be a good reminder that we ARE supposed to treat each other equally in terms of expectations–of research and of courtesy.
A simple change in wording would do a world of good here, actually; address the beliefs rather than the folks who hold them?
