I sometimes see people requesting simple and strange prayers!, like this one, my question: is it okay to ask GOD for everything in our life even the simplest thing which somehow we can manage to do and keep GOD for the tough times?

Thoughts?

We are commanded to “pray constantly” in 1 Thess 5:17 so I don’t see why it would be a problem. The deeper and more constant and more intimate our relationship becomes with our creator the better. And asking for the intercession of the Saints(such as St. Anthony when something is lost) helps us to realise our place as part of Christ body the Church, some members of which are already in Heaven with God and will gladly pray for us.

May God Bless you.

God is not an insurance policy we only use in emergencies or for 'a rainy day".

He is with us constantly, and will guide us through big and small – if we let him!

Prayer can be seen in many aspects, one of which is conversation. Wouldn’t you WANT to share your dreams, fears, hopes, etc. with someone you love and who loves you? Every day and every moment, if possible?

What a wondrous gift we have been given!

Do we need to ask God for anything other than knowledge of his will for us and the courage to act on it? Any other “requests” are simply warm ups for living secure in the knowledge that through him, in him and with him all has already been given, and given abundantly.

Everything that is important to us is important to God. I thank God for that.

I no longer ask God for very much and just want to simply enjoy being in His Presence and that is the best prayer I been taught only this year :D. It don’t stop me wanting things for myself but all I want from God is to feel Him when I am in His Presence. Sometimes I feel His warmth envelope me in such a warm Loving embrace and that is all I want of God. Long ago I gave up with asking God for things because I found that didn’t work for me. It is far easier and my prayer gets answered everytime when I mentally stop and feel His Presence.

Please feel free to do what works for you 👍

Hi Sam,

Jesus has given us the guarantee that all our prayers will be answered. We know from experience that this does not mean that he will give us everything we ask for, but that every prayer will have a result. It’s His call, because He knows best. If finding our keys is going to be good for us in the long run, he will help us find them. But instead, he may decide that our mother will be diagnosed early enough to be cured of a cancer. This could have all kinds of benefits for me and my family.

During a priest sermon at cathedral here in Dallas, he said pray to God everyday at every moment giving him thanks and for any petition we may need.
He also said, talk to God as he though he’s your best friend. Talk to him about the new truck you want to get, or the girl that your trying to go out with. If you want to talk to God or pray to him for anything whether its small or big, he will listen to you

I was thinking that GOD wanted us to depend on ourselves at least in the simple matters, as indicated in (Genesis 3:19).

God is the God of the smallest details as well as the universe.
Every book I have read about time spent in Adoration calls for us to ask God about those things that may seem trivial, as well as that large matter which is most troubling us. We can speak to God about our relationships. We can talk to him about the toe we stubbed this morning, or thank Him for the marvelous rainbow we saw.
We can rely on God for all things. We are branches on the vine that is Christ, without whom we can do nothing and through whom all things are possible.
Does that mean that we will not need to exert personal effort in our relationships or other matters that may be troubling us? If we put our trust in God, we will find insight and ways of confronting personal issues that we would not otherwise have.
We ask for our daily bread as we pray the Our Father, that we will have the sustenance necessary to be healthy. We can ask for the job that will make it possible to earn what we need to provide that sustenance.
Since we are called to love, we can ask for a little extra to give to that person we see standing on the corner everyday so that he/she may likewise eat.
Jesus said that if when we offer our sacrifice, we remember a brother who has a grievance against us to go and be reconciled and then return. We can ask God to provide a time and place to meet that person. We can ask for a favorable outcome, remembering of course that God does not work against anybody’s will. We can ask for the necessary courage to follow Christ’s directive. If we know that person likes a particular flower, flavor of candy, or other item, we can ask God to provide that item for us to bring as a gift.
We can open our selves to the gifts, large and small, that God gives us every day.

YES

He already knows your petition before you ask it…as he is not bound by time, so ask away.

We CAN:

Ask God for any good thing; KNOWING that “no” is a possible answer, as is “yes” and “conditioanlly” or “not now.”

WE CAN’T OVERWHELM OUR GOD… He is capable of any and every “good thing”👍

ALL prayers out to end with: THY WILL; NOT MY will BE DONE:)

And our lives goal ought to be to allow CHRIST TO TAKE CHARGE OF OUR LIVES

God Bless,
