Lots of great old shows listed here - Fawlty Towers! haven’t seen that in a while, brilliant.
My favourite tv show of all time! DH and I apply quotes from it in any and all situations like “Don’t mention the war! I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it”.

Another British show we do that with is The Young Ones - not sure if that even screened in the US?

One show I loved that didn’t last long was “The Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimely”. It was half decent I must say and if you think I was happy it got cancelled my German response is nein. 😛

another one I loved (well, my real love for it starting mid 2nd season, but I was really upset when I got home too late from a weekend trip to Chicago for the 1st season finale), What am I talking about? Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. They really did fans an injustice by leaving the series finale at the point they did. I was on vacation in Boston, but luckily I had set my VCR to record it. I am very lucky I did because ABC didn’t air ANY reruns that summer at all. Dean’s unfortunately had a slipping career since then, while Teri is a star of a show on ABC (Desperate Housewives).
I loved that show too! Mostly because it was focused on the relationship between Lois and Clark as well as the Man of Steel himself. In my opinion the wedding of Lois and Clark in Season 4 was the best episode of the entire series.

The ending of Season 4 was unfortunately supposed to have been a cliffhanger leading into what was going to be a Season 5. But ABC cancelled the series and that is why the series ended like it did.

They should have made at least 2 or 3 more episodes just so that fans could have seen what it would have been like for Lois and Clark to look after the baby after it arrived on their doorstep.

I can’t remember the shows much, except that as a kid I was a big fan. I had a poster in my room, drank soft drinks with their individual pictures on it (leonardo was lemonade, raphael was cola, etc), and watched the TMNT movie.

This reminds me…

The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! lol

I hope someone hasnt brought this show up yet. 🙂
Power Rangers is one of my all time favourite TV Shows! I grew up with the series and still watch it to this day! Some of the later ones are not great compared to the originals but I have to say that I still get a kick out of watching the new seasons (in particular the current season Power Rangers RPM which is the best season to come in a long time).

Go! Go! Power Rangers! You Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers!

Cave Men was genius, but our culture can not handle such political correctness, j.k. j.k. 😉

Well, I guess I’ll be giving away my age when I tell you what I used to watch. Here goes (in no particular order) Maverick, Bonanza, Dark Shadows. Mary Tyler Moore, MASH, Johnny Carson and Northern Exposure. I’ll probably think of more later. My first real “love” was James Garner. I’d watch him in anything!❤️

A lot of these have already been mentioned:

Firefly
Grounded for Life
Mystery Science Theater 3000
Pete and Pete
Life on Mars (That one just recently got canceled:()
Sealab 2020 (didn’t always approve of the humor, but I miss it)
Dinosaurs (I was pretty young, so I might not like it if I saw it again)

Wow where do I begin?

There are various shows in various genres

Category One -Cartoons and other shows from my childhood, or proof that just because its a cartoon does not mean it has to insult your intelligence

Doug (before Disney took it over and ruined it)
Rocko’s Modern Life
Ren and Stimpy
Talespin
Batman: The Animated Series (do not confuse with the anime wannabe “The Batman”)
Animaniacs
Pinky and the Brain
Looney Tunes (seriously you can’t find this show anywhere other than Youtube)
The Adventures of Pete and Pete
Guts
Legends of the Hidden Temple
Hey Dude
Double Dare

(I confess, I grew up in the 1990s on Nickelodeon)

I also remember when the History Channel and TLC were good and not just bikes, weddings, and UFOs abducting Hitler at the Battle of Gettysburg

The Red Green Show (seriously, PBS made a huge mistake when they stopped airing reruns)

Has anyone mentioned yet the old NBC Teen Sitcoms such as Saved by the Bell, Malibu CA, and Hang Time.

I loved those shows!

Darkwing Duck
Three’s Company
Chico and the Man
Columbo
Mission Impossible
Get Smart
MASH
I Love Lucy
The Tick (show and cartoon)
Star Trek (I have a fondness for DeForest Kelley)

The West Wing and Queer as Folk both come to mind

That 70’s show as well and Grounded for Life
😃

I miss:

Fillmore!, which was an awesome cartoon about a middle school safety patrol that was basically a parody of 70’s cop dramas. They had tartar sauce smugglers in the place of drug runners, counterfeit baseball card rings in the place of regular counterfeiters, an overbearing principal in place of the mayor, and even a chief who is a perfect imitation of the stereotypical cop show police chief, down to his morning cup of hot cocoa, in place of hot chocolate. They even had a parody of Hannibal Lecter as a serial bathroom tagger.

Hey Arnold!, which my friends were quoting well into high school. Class even stopped once as half the class starting pounding their desks and yelling about how “Stoop Kid’s afraid to leave the stoop! Stoop Kid’s afraid to leave the stoop!”

Spiderman and Batman, the afternoon cartoons from the nineties. They were good, they were pretty action-packed, and they weren’t stupid. I could understand them in second grade, but I can still enjoy them now. On second thought, add Gargoyles and Darkwing Duck to that list (I am the shadow that flaps in the night…"

Early Edition (I have Season One on DVD and am eager for Season Two!)
The Young Riders (think this only lasted two seasons)
Fame
Aaron’s Way
and
Father Murphy (both of these were vehicles for Merlin Olsen after “Little House on the Prairie”, but probably too “tame” or “wholesome”… I liked them, though!)
**Crime Story **(loved Dennis Farina!)
Unsolved Mysteries (Wednesday nights, 7 pm, never missed it!)
**When Days Were Rotten **(really telling my age now, anyone remember this?)

I just tried to list some that no one else mentioned (that I recall), but there are a lot more good old shows I’d love to see again!

I liked Fame a lot, also.

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned these 2 shows that were highly regarded by critics, but were cancelled, anyway:

Now and Again (1999-2000) - gov’t agency gives a man killed in a subway accident a new, younger body. He could not reveal his identity to his much loved family.

American Dreams - Early 2000’s. Catholic Family in 1960’s Phila. Show brought out the music and social tension occuring during this time.

American Dreams! When I was in 7th and 8th grade I used to watch that after football on Sundays. I had forgotten all about it up until now. I think it ran off the rails later on, but it was definitely at its best when JJ was playing high school football and trying to go to Notre Dame.

All in the Family
Old Speed Racer
Old Mega Man Cartoon
Fraggle Rock
Original MMPR
Rocos Modern Life
Original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Original Transformers
Voltron
Thunder Cats
Gundam wing

Put them on reruns already *grrr
