  • Great shows that weren’t “canceled” but had run their course. Still, I wish there was more of them.

What was the name of that show where the greek actress with long wavy hair was a doctor and she came back to her home town of _______________ somewhere in New England and her dad was a vet.

I think the name of the show was the name of the town in which it was set…

Anybody?

:banghead:

Ed Sullivan,
Smothers Brothers,
Carol Burnett
Garry Moore Show
Hullabaloo

So no one else remembers “When Days Were Rotten”? I must really be a nerd!
I think the title was “When Things Were Rotten”, and, yes, I remember it. It wasn’t on very long. D!ck Gautier as Robin Hood, and Misty Rowe as Maid Marian…

I love absoutly love Firefly, and I am also a fan of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel.
And of course Little House On The Prairie 😃

Power Rangers was and still is adapted from Super Sentai. I could be wrong but I think Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad was adapted from Voltron.
Correction! Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad was actually adapted from Gridman and not Voltron! Sorry! My Mistake!

I think I’m the only person who somewhat liked Star Trek: Enterprise. I wish that show had found an audience.

My kids, dh, and I absolutely loved Joan of Arcadia…for those who have never seen it, it was such a terrific show for our youth. It showed a girl who was put into a lot of compromising situations, but always followed what God was telling her. He would appear to her through different people, and often ask her to do things so out of the norm–it was such a great show.😦 I know why they canceled it, because it supposedly wasn’t getting great ratings…but hello…they put it on at 8pm on a Friday night. If they had placed that during the week…say Tuesday night at 8pm, it would still be running!

So…what shows do YOU miss? (anyone remember Joan of Arcadia?):o
Green Acres, Sanford & Son, Gilligan’s Island… 😃

Has anyone mentioned The Incredible Hulk (Bill Bixby, Lou Ferigno)?

Man, them were the shows.

I liked season 1. I hated season 2. The metaplot was just horrid.
Yeah, I tuned out during that whole metaplot business. I don’t know why every starship captain has to end up having an epic role in saving Earth and all of humanity from catastrophe.

I watched that as a kid and I found it a bit morose. That theme music with the slow piano notes almost lurching from note to note like sobs sure was haunting though.

It’s so good to see / be reminded of so many favorites.
I loved The Waltons, E.R. (the early first few seasons with original cast), The Honeymooners and I Love Lucy (re-run, re-run and I still know the scripts). Ditto Frasier and also, Everybody Loves Raymond. Frasier re-runs still on late-night here as is Raymond, but I stopped watching Raymond during its last season when I didn’t like a slur/sentence involving God’s name. Still love the earlier episodes. And while I didn’t watch Carol Burnett, I’ve seen that “Gone With the Wind” clip…PRICELESS !

Movies: It’s a Wonderful Life, Gone With the Wind, Charlie Brown Christmas. Okay, so I’m a romantic, grown-up kid. 😃
