I have seen the doctor. They ran about 30 blood tests, and everything came back normal, except I still have pneumonia. An atypical pneumonia, I’m told.
I’ve been told it’s a bacteria, not a virus, but none of the anti-biotics help. I’ve also been told it may take me six months to get over this.
The only medicine I have is an inhaler. I am, however, finally beginning to cough up phlegm, which I am careful to spit out, since I know it contains the bacteria. But my head and throat hurt from all the coughing.
I have to deal with it all by myself today. My husband left to drive several miles to take his mother to an appointment (she’s elderly and can’t drive). His brother, who lives only a mile from his mother, won’t help at all, so it’s all up to my husband. I’m trying not to be resentful, but it’s hard.
The worst part is not being able to go to daily Mass and Eucharsitic Adoration. Thank God for the ministers who have brought me Communion occasionally.
