Remember when you were dating, how every word that came out of his mouth was like golden wine from the heavens? If he liked baseball, you were up all night reading the encyclopedia of baseball and you would sit beside him and cheer as if that game was the second coming of the Lord? If he liked blueberry muffins you would bake 19 batches until you made 6 perfect muffins for him?

Sometimes we need to remember what it is like to treat our husbands as if we are in love with them.

And you know how it is when you read a book you love how you want every one you know to read it? How you want to share joy and beauty with the people YOU love?

Go see the and, don’t just shut up and like it - see it through his eyes, see it with love.
That was beautiful. Thanks for posting this as it opened my own eyes to how I need to have a different perspective of my husband of 19 years! We all need a good dose of “remember when…” sometimes.

I’d say you definitely should go and see Huge Pile of Sand but you will thereupon acquire the right to have him see Huge Pile of Shoes or Long Teary Movie and he should grin and bear it.
:rotfl: Very well said!

Hubby had sand everywhere, as he did make it to the top (ain’t that just like a man??🤷🤷 Always having to conquer SOMETHING…)
Oh yes, I remember how in the first year of law school, I, a lanky asthmatic nerd, took a sporty girl to sand dunes (she had graduated from a sporty highschool before studying engineering) and we ran up the dune just after marching for about 9-10 miles, most of which through sand. I was actually swallowing my own blood while controlling my voice to be steady but managed to fake it.

(We had a Princess Leia moment on the way back because there was Rain and Wind and Low Temperature and All but the charm dissipated shortly thereafter, like always.)
Read up a few posts and you can see more.
Ooops. Sorry. Seems I replied without checking the thread history like a good poster should. :o

By the way, have you picked Long Teary Movie or located Huge Pile of Shoes yet? It ain’t gonna make him happy but the purpose of marriage never was to make him happy!

You make me laugh so hard with your witty responses…I am not actually much of a Long Teary Movie fan (I can cry during almost any movie, I did several times during "The Way) and I can buy my own Pile of Shoes without him present. He would not begrudge me either one, BTW.

Glad you didn’t actually kill yourself for that sporty girl…going asthmatic in remote locations ain’t too smart…but guys do that sort of thing for us ladies…and we love you for it…
