In various prayers we pray for our sins to be forgiven. But can’t we pray that our SIN is forgiven? All sins being the result of original sin. Like at mass when we pray “Lamb of God you take away the sin/sins of the world. Have mercy on us”
I’m just wondering the correct way to pray these prayers. I see it that it was one crucifixion that takes away the sin of the world. But I also see that it was many wounds that did that.
Does anyone know the Latin translation to the above part of the mass that I quoted?
It just makes me feel so much more connected to by neighbor to say SIN. I truly feel like I share in their guilt and they carry mine.
