Hasn’t Sinn Fein pretty much been infiltrated and taken over by Marxists/far leftists? If so, then it’s hardly surprising that they would be against the Church (I suppose they consider “Catholics” more of an etho-national group than the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church).

As for Sinead O’Connor - she’s like an Irish version of Madonna - a fallen-away Catholic '80’s has-been looking for attention.

Fears grow for Sinead in Pope threat

SINEAD O’Connor sparked widespread anger today after suggesting she would shoot the Pope.

The controversial singer warned of a “f ***in bloodbath” if Pope Benedict was to visit Ireland. The threat is the latest in a string of comments made by the troubled singer on the internet which have led to concerns among friends over her state of mind.

Reacting to a radio poll on a potential visit by the Pope, O’Connor – who caused worldwide fury in 1992 when she ripped up a photo of Pope John Paul on US television – warned that there would be a “f **kin bloodbath”. “‘Young people of Ireland I love u’ said Sinead as she pulled the f ***ing trigger,” the singer wrote on Twitter.

“There’d be a f**kin bloodbath. Me meet the f **ker off the plane myself,” she added. One senior bishop today described the comment as “extreme” and pleaded for “those around Sinead to help her.”

Thanks for the explanation - every time I think I have Irish politics figured out, someone always points out something new (why can’t they just have a centre-right and centre-left party, with a couple others further out on the spectrum, like everyone else ). And I don’t have a problem with socialists arguing their position as an economic system (even though I disagree with its effectiveness as an economic system) - what bothers me is that they almost always attack traditional family social values and traditions. Glad to see you’re an exception to the latter!
