Sinead O’connor seems to be reveling when there is some scandal that she can pick on, not even knowing all the full facts.

This may not be a popular opinion, but I think that if one is a pedophile, that person has something mentally wrong. Do I think it should be protected? No, but I do think it is a form of insanity. They really cannot be reformed if you listen to experts. Pedophilia and abusing teens is a different thing. The age for pedophilia is quite young. I don’t believe a person who isn’t insane would do such things. Now, maybe there is a reason they are the way they are. However, that doesn’t change the insanity. That’s my opinion of course.
 
Although I strongly dislike Catholic bashing, I have to say that the Vatican under Pope John Paul II brought this on the Vatican under Pope Benedict XVI.

The Vatican was like an ostrich with it’s head in the sand. All they could see was the sand (USA) rather than the earth (all nations). If Pope John Paul II had called for a worldwide investigation into pedophilia, this problem would have been addressed years ago and act 2 would not be happening now.

I pray that God will give Pope Benedict XVI the wisdom to open a worldwide investigation into pedophilia. If he doesn’t, in another decade we could have act 3 (Africa, Asia or South America) followed by act 4 a decade later, and so forth.

No, we need to send complaints to the molesters and those who stonewalled, moved them around, kept silent, or refused to prosecute.

Interersting position for a Catholic. You don’t want to complain to a news channel that is attacking your church, but you do want to send in the umpteenth-millionth complaint to the church, as if the bishops are not all well aware of the problem by now after 10 years of news reports.

Okey dokey. Well, to each their own I suppose.

Yes. Reread my post. I never said the church wasn’t there. :rolleyes: I specifically said it has 1.3 billion members and has made itself a target.

You cant attack what isnt there. If the church had not made itself a target it couldnt be attacked.

Now, one last chance for an apology for your personal insult to me and accusation of being anti catholic, before I report you to the moderators.

**I can’t believe it. Tonight (March 26) Anderson Cooper on CNN just had that boob Sinaed O’Conner on for a whole half hour acting as an authority on Catholicism! And on top of that, there was no rebuttle guest. All she did was rip on the Pope and the Church.

CNN is on an anti-Catholic rampage of late I have noticed. I make a suggestion to all here: Take a whole day to divert all the typing you do in this forum over to typing mountains of complaints to CNN. We should flood them with complaints. Here is their contact page: cnn.com/feedback/**

Here is an addition to the OP:

Cooper’s blog also links to a personal statement from O’Connor. She was a victim of the Magdalene Laundries (she does not discuss this in detail)… this might explain some of her anger towards the Church.
