Negative. I only referenced the SSPX because you brought it up - I used your link. I asked for a specific exception to our case.

7 or 8 men in our schola is fine for the time being. We were getting compliments at 4, but this is besides the point. Being that we are a mission of only 200-300 people (and it doesn’t even seem like that many), a fairly new schola that is rapidly growing (4 to 8 in a month is rapid), would be far fetched to qualify for a lack of men.
LOL! 7 or 8 men is fine in your judgment. It may not be enough to preclude women in the *local ordinary’s *eyes who would seem to be the one to have final say on the matter. Nor may that be relevant at all. Can you show me where in the current code of canon law we are bound to only men in the choir?

I’m quite fine with an all men’s schola if that’s what the local ordinary prefers, calls for or allows. I do think that Moira’s director is out of line and out of logic. If he wants to use the logic he’s trying to use, he needs to get rid of all of the women together which he apparently has even though its not his jurisdiction…

I’m not really sure if Moira has gone to the pastor or not but she should.

It is sad that the inner workings of our parish is being discussed. The pastor is aware of the situation.

Can we end the discussion about the parish and have everybody pray for the important mission of this parish.

Geez…

Lacking in logic? The director, along with the pastor and the entire choir & schola, had a meeting discussing these documents (same ones discussed in this thread), exceptions were also discussed and pointed out (as also done in this thread) that they do not apply to this particular situation.

And if anyone is out of line, it would be you, sir (or ma’am), as this clearly isn’t your choir, nor are you the pastor or ordinary, nor (I’m assuming by your statements) are you even a member of this mission. So, as the moderator has said, leave the personal stuff to PM’s.
