Do This In Protest for Me?
One of the consercrated Host breakers and sharers was Sister Donna Quinn, a Catholic nun who said,

“We were told many years ago, ‘Do this in memory of me,’ and that meant sharing and that meant the eucharist, for anyone.”**

Don’t tell me let me guess. Sister is a child of the 60s who thinks 'if it feels good do it." Sheesh!!!

I think they should bring back the communion rail. Only the preist should give the Eucharist out. They should do it by intinction; dip The Body in The Blood and then place it on the tongue.

That would save us from many of these problems. We would have no rainbow sash problem. If someone is wearing a sash, the preist just has to walk by to the next person.

Yes I agree, it would be nice if it could be done that way today. But as you know, many bishops in our day tend to give reverence and protection of the Eucharist a back seat to keep the pews filled and donations flowing in, for paying off abuse settlements and related legal expenses if not their salaries and pensions.

In other words I think it all comes down to money and keeping people interested in coming to Church. Often at the expense of doctrine (to the point of permitting sacrilege), morals (giving us more than our fill of teethless lovey-dovey homilies) and that of numerous souls. But at the end I predict that this failure of many bishops to teach and defend what Rome always has, is going to come back and bite them (and the Church) in the you know where.

Agree or disagree as you might, that is my stance.

if you love our God, you will hear mass and ignore the trivialities

Is it loving God to tolerate heresy, and ignoring while he is profaned in the Eucharist? If one is in error, who is to tell them they are wrong?

The nun’s superiors should be notified and they should deal with her accordingly

Deacons are also considered Ordinary Ministers of the Eucharist. Its one of their primary functions.

Of course, they did not come to mind when I was writing my post. That would be fine. But, nuns and other lay people should not be handing out Eucharist.

In these times, apparently no one. The thinking is that to tell someone it is wrong would cuase more “problems”. In essence, it is a code for doing nothing and giving a reason for doing nothing.

its not pc to tell some they are wrong about anything
Well, I guess the Catholic Church is not pc; and I am with them. Being pc means nothing.

To whomever:
This woman’s prioress general has been notified, and has given an insipid response, the gist of which was that the congregation, Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa, encourages all the Sisters to form their own consciences, and sometimes, even when they disagree with Sister Donna, they will still respect her conscience. In other words, she is out of control, and there’s nothing they can do about it. Actually, since she lives in an apartment, they could refuse to pay her rent; she seems to be in non remunerative ministry, so they could tell her to get a real job (except she is past retirement age). It is a crock that she continues to be a nun-but, since the 1970 IHM debacle, bishops have been terrified of nuns. Few bishops seem to meet the criteria for manliness. How very sad.

Back in the 50,s and early 60,s I was taught by the toughest most loving, most orthodox, full habit wearing, Catholic nuns in existance, the Ursulines. This "nun"couldn’t hold a candle to them.I’d like to put her in a room alone for 5 minutes with their Mother Superior,Sister Mother Hubertine.Thank God for those women.

Horrible
We have the communion rail at our church and our priest will only let you receive on the tongue.
In my opinion that is how it should be.
