I’m not intending this to be snarky, but shouldn’t it read “priestess”? The Church doesn’t have priestesses.
To follow up, priestesses were very common during Jesus’ day, and yet he didn’t choose women to be Apostles. And yet, the creature we honor the most is a woman.

How about if I worked as the assistant of a brain surgeon. An emergency situation comes in, a bullet in the head that needs to be removed. The surgeon is occupied with another patient removing a tumor. Oh, but, hey, I am available - so I say so. I have time, I am available. Where is the patient? And this is suppose to be justified because the surgeon was not available?!? The matter with pretending to be a priest is worst than attempting to replace a brain surgeon. It’s not merely a problem of competence.
Fair analogy, if the person dies directly because of your intervention you will be reprimanded, lose your medical license-or- if the person lives because of your intervention, you still will be reprimanded. The patient may sue if there is any possible defect in his recovery. If he died because there was no available surgeon, his family may sue the hospital. Your role is a surgeon’s assistant. I feel sorry for the patient. He should have ended up in a hospital with a surgeon available.

There aren’t enough surgeons.

The symptom of the problem of nuns wanting to be priests is that there are not enough priests. Who created this problem? When did the number of priests start to dwindle? Why are there 6000+ families in a parish in my local diocese being shepherded by one priest?

I do not fault the nun for trying, Lord, have mercy on us all.

The fault with the nuns is that they are contradicting the teachings of the Church they say they are a part of, and thus are leading people astray.

Probably because your diocese isn’t very good at fostering vocations.

My diocese (Arlington) has 68 parishes. We have about 250 priests and 40 more in seminary.

Where are the stats that say most, if not all, Scripps TV stations are “secular”? (meaning, “without God”)
If nearly everyone at this specific station is a theist–which I know to be true–does that still mean the station is “secular”–separate from God?

When you said it was “just the secular news spin” who were you talking about?
WCPO was the only publication at the time of your post that had written a story about this, which the OP posted.

If it’s common for “the media” to talk about ordination in this way, why do you say it’s a *secular *news spin?

I don’t mean to harp, but I’m really, honestly, painstakingly curious about your definitions here.

.
Do you believe WCPO to be a religious news source such as EWTN or Vatican News or the National Catholic Register? They are not. They are a secular media outlet just like ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC or any of their affiliates. I believe that’s what the OP meant.

Yes, Lord have mercy on us all. But this nun knows Church teaching and she willfully rejected it. She’s certainly at fault even if her intentions were sincere.

Secular doesn’t mean “without God”; it means non-religious. Theists can certainly work for secular organizations. I know I do. 🤷

And yes, here’s a list of Scripps TV stations. They are all secular.

Maybe the first to write about this particular simulated ordination but not the first to write about womens’ “ordinations” as if they were real.

Because most of the media is secular. They do not take the time to understand what they are reporting and they word stories in a way that grabs attention, even if it’s not accurate. That’s spin.

The article is unclear if she has repented or if she intends to still pretend she is a priest?
I hope “Tish” repents to, for her sake, and as an example to others. If she has Progressive MS, she is on a donward spiral that will end in certain death. There is no recovery from primary or secondary progressive MS, short of a miracle.

She seems to be very ill. She also has end stage liver disease. She needs many prayers.
I didn’t realize there was a video as well. It is clear from viewing that she is not repenting. Prayers are needed.
