Ack. I can’t see or read too well since I just got new lens today. They said it will take a few days for my eyes to adjust.
The appt. with my neuropsych went better than I could have hoped for. It sounds like he is going to take many of the suggestions I gave, and do very well. He looked at the suggestion paper I gave him and said that I am “conscientious” and will do very well with the Sisters. I think that’s awesome to hear. He really thinks that it’s a combo of councelling and medicine that is helping me, and there could be more factors at play. He was impressed to see I’ve been going on 1 year and 6 months on medicine without any relapse. We even discussed about what you said about convent wanting to have the resources, experience and finances to handle a person. He said that he didn’t think there would be much needed in resources to deal with me, just the medicine. I don’t have a continuous condition, just two separate episodes, and once medicine is underway, I return to normal. He did ask if there was much in the area, so that if I ever got really stressed, maybe I could go to a counselor in the area of the convent. He even kept the print out on the order, so he may even come across this thread and message.
Because I used to be discerning with this order, and the Sister was very helpful, I talked to a Sister with the Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist and she said of supplements: “Basic vitamins usually aren’t a problem, but you do seem to have quite a variety.” and “It sounds like you have a good grasp of what your body needs to function well and this is great…” I also learned that Mother Mary Gabriel of the Sister Servants is Mother Assumpta’s sister. Interesting.
Now I’ve just got my counselor and PCP to ask for letters of recommendation, but I think the letters from my neuropsychologist and psychiatrist are going to be awesome.
hehe According to this article, I won’t get Alzheimers and “In the study, “conscientiousness” refers to a person’s tendency to control impulses and be goal-directed, and is also known as will, work and dependability, according to background information in the article.”
