Sisters of St Catherine, Virgin and Martyr, Poland

I greatly admire the spirituality in Poland. In the last century, it was a veritable Saint factory. And Saint Catherine of Alexandria is somewhat mysterious, but as a martyr was a witness to the faith at the core of her being.

As to devotion, I think the Poles put many of us to shame. Being an immune suppressed lay ‘hermit’, my online adoration is at a chapel in Poland. Amazing how full the chapel often is.

I’ve been to Niepokalanów, just after Poland had come out from under communism, road maintenance was minimal and it was up a muddy dirt road. Pretty humbling to walk in Kolbe’s footsteps.

“…an immune suppressed lay ‘hermit’”

There is such a thing as lay contemplative and Diocesan Hermit. Have you considered either one?

Our emerging Secular Institute has two Eremitical Networks - one for Prolife, the other for Autism.
