JL: Slain in the spirit you probably have seen on TV. Have you ever seen people in line and a pentecostal minister lays hands on them and they fall down in a faint? That’s slain in the spirit.I’m curious, I hear certain expressions uttered by non-Catholic Christians a lot that I never seem to hear spoken by Catholics. “Slain in the spirit” and “convicted” are just two examples. Is there a reason why we don’t use those expressions (or at least, to the point of rarity that I’ve never heard them used by Catholics.)
Convicted is when one is comdemned in his heart by the Holy Spirit for sin. Which should lead to repenance.
When I became Catholic there were a lot of terms I had no idea what they meant. Such as litrugy, apostolic and Eucharist to name a few.
