Let’s compare two addictions. One kills the addicted party and in some cases those around them. The other does not. Our Faith highly values human life at all levels. Yet the addiction that kills according to some in this thread may not even be a sin while the other is considered a mortal sin in most threads. The addictions are smoking and masturbation. Puzzling.

I have thought exactly what you are thinking. Puzzling, and perplexing indeed!!!

Well, I see what you are saying, but as Ive mentioned before, I do think smoking is a sin, maybe not so much in past years, when the public was not really aware of how dangerous it is, but today, everyone knows the dangers, and those who continue to do it…are sinning, when you look at it, it is ingesting poison on a regular basis, knowing full well its dangers…IMO, that is intentional…suicide, just VERY VERY slowly, over a period of many years.
