Welcome home. There are still a few processes for you to be received into the Catholic Church. As been advised here, the best thing for you to do now is to talk to the parish priest so that he can guide you in what to do to get into those processes.

God bless you.

Thank you everyone for your responses and your welcomes. I hardly slept last night! Still so excited. 😃

So, looking at the schedule, I can either go to vigil tonight, mass tomorrow, and try to catch father at the end of confession today.

Which is best? Does father tend to hang around after these services/sacraments?

The Catholic Church is 2,000 years old.

There is a lot of history to “catch up on”.

Get your name on the mailing list of places like Ignatius Press and just peruse the various books.

If your means permit it, get a subscription to “Magnificat”, which contains daily readings for Mass.

Go on-line and read up on the Rosary.

This is very exciting … to open up a new chapter in your life.

I’m smiling dizzy ! My first smile of the day.
You really - took it upon yourself !
That’s how you do it !
Adoration - conversion !
To me, that speaks of sweet patience -
and an openness - to guidance -
And being in touch - with your own presence !

Many priests go from the confessional to preparation for presiding at Mass and there may be a time crunch, so that’s probably not the best time.

Father does greet people as they leave the Church after Mass, so you can approach him then. I think Sunday Mass would be best. He’ll most likely be delighted to talk to you then.

Welcome home!

@whitney It’s fantastic
I listened to it this morning! It’s great!! I will definitely need to listen several more times and read up on what he’s saying, I hadn’t heard it before.
Oh good! I’m glad you liked it. I really enjoy listening to him. His enthusiasm for his faith is infectious. It’s definitely worth investigating further. A good place to start is with a Catholic Bible. If you don’t have one there is a great online one with excellent footnotes here:

I have a great conversion story. It started out really wrong. I married a Catholic girl, and literally convinced her to marry outside the church because we didn’t want to wait. I was born Baptist, was fairly religious, but honestly knew nothing about Catholicism. My wife wanted us to eventually marry in the Church, and I told her I would. We were married about 25 years when I started in on a serious study of the Church. At this point, she had pretty much given up on me coming into the Catholic Church, I know it’s a silly reason, but I was reading a series of books, part of the background was that he was Catholic, not a big part of the book, but it came up several times. I started out on a three or four year study of Catholicism. As one not seriously familiar with it, it was all news to me that it was the original church, I didn’t know that Baptists didn’t believe in the real presence ( I assumed when you said ‘This is my body’ you meant it). The next step was that I turned on the radio, my wife had it to the local Catholic station and Catholic Answers Live was on the radio on the way home from work, in a few weeks I was listening to it all the way home (about an hour drive). I hadn’t mentioned any of this to my wife, so one night she was away from home. I did a google search on how to join the Catholic Church. The first thing that appeared was a local church’s RCIA program which happened to be the same one that was my wife’s family’s parish. It was Sept, so they were just getting ready to start the RCIA program, on top of that it was Wed night which was the only night I got off work in time to go. My anniversary was the next week, and for my anniversary gift, I gave her a card and told her I was going to RCIA. Lots of coincidences, huh?

Please just call the parish office Monday morning. Priests tend to be very busy on weekends with Mass & confession, maybe a wedding or a baptism thrown in there.

Welcome Home!

Praise the Lord, you are coming home! Rejoice and be glad! Blessings and joy to you as you walk in faith toward full communion with The Church. You are in my prayers!

So I went to mass today!!!

It was a beautiful experience. I got a chance to talk to the pastor after the service (through my tears I think I got a couple words out) he was very welcoming.

I’m feeling good about this! ❤️

Without reading other replies, I’ll ask: Were you ever baptized? What religion were you previously? Choose a Roman Catholic Church and make an appointment with a priest - to ask your questions. He will direct you, according to whatever Faith you were practicing. Talk to God, privately. He’s got a Plan for you. And, if you haven’t already received First Communion in another Faith - remember your family and fellow posters here during that First Communion…It’s a very special one. God and Our Lady Bless you.
