I’m all for not personal criticism and if I’ve done so, I’m sorry. These are delicate matters and it is hard to say the truth as is perceived without offending.
Let me revisit my response. Where did I make this personal?

These things are all done and always have been…by the magesterium…With the office of the Pope
Please explain. I asked about the CC (and let me be specific - if I go into any CC at Mass time will I see) having holy hands being lifted, one bringing a psalm another a hymn, and what about the gifts of the Spirit?

I did not say it was anyone in particular Dokimas. I could tell the discussion was heading downhill and thought a reminder was good for all.

You will see hands lifted, Psalms read/sang/ hymns and the Spirit is there.

If you attend a Charismatic Mass, you may even see people speaking in tongues.

What about them? If you mean do we roll in the aisles and shout no

Two questions:

1.) Do you think Catholics are going to hell? I think not all catholics or protestant are going to Heaven. I don’t see it as a whole church thing but as an individual thing. Heck, I could be fooling myself and be lost for eternity.

2.) If so, which Protest-ant faith communities are going with us? I believe I’ve answered this.

David

IMHO not all Protestants are anti-Catholic or think the CC is not a Biblical Church. There are extremes on both sides of the aisle. I have seen many Protestants who consider Catholics to be their brothers and sisters in Christ and vice versa. I also see fundamentalist Catholics (ie…SSPX) that consider Protestants to be condemned to hell because they are outside the “Catholic Church”.

I"m not sure this is a thread that can breed a whole lot of Christian love.

Is this what your church looks like?

1Co 14:26 How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.

How about 1 Corinthians 12?

And this: 1Ti 2:8 I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;?
is this all you have to present to us about the Church? or are there more?

All the heretics, therefore, come against the Church; but while all the heretics can conquer each other, they can win nothing for themselves. For their victory is the triumph of the Church over all of them. One heresy struggles against that teaching of another, which the faith of the Church has already condemned in the other heresy, - for there is nothing which the heretics hold in common, ’ and the result is that they affirm our faith while fighting among themselves."
Saint Hilary of Poitiers… The Trinity, 7:4, 356 A.D… Jurgens 865

Here’s my bottom line: the CC is no more or less special than any PD. It is the individuals that make up the universal church, the Body of Christ, the Bride of Christ that is important to God.

I have no clue what you’re trying to get from me. It seems you have an agenda against protestants, maybe because some have said bad things about the CC. If so, why don’t you just get over it. The CC doesn’t need protecting from foolish non-catholics. If the gates of hell won’t prevail against it, as you believe, any foolish comment about it would succeed either, unless God isn’t able to protect the church. GOD is far more than able to protect what is His!!!

is that so?

so, when Jesus said: if he doesnt listen to the Church, treat him as tax collector. what individual is Jesus given this command to?

I don’t agree…We are the church Christ founded and the only Christian church for 1500 years…we are special…does it mean we are saints…noper…got some really bad Catholics

Does it mean God doesn’t love Protestants…noper some Protestants are very good people

As for who get to heaven we should all try harder to get ourselves there, and stop telling other people they are not going to make it

Aquinas says that four of these gifts (wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and counsel) direct the intellect, while the other three gifts (fortitude, reverence, and fear of the Lord or wonder and awe) direct the will toward God.

A voice of reason. Thank you, spn.

BTW, sometimes I use, ‘IMNSHO.’😃

well, you have said that the CC does not resemble the Church of the Bible?

then, you select a couple of verses of the Bible. so, asked you if there are more Scriptures about the Church. if there is, why not bring them also. why hide them? is there a reason why you should hide them?

well, you have said that the CC does not resemble the Church of the Bible? Have I? Could you please quote me where I’ve said that?

No reason at all. How about the verses in Act 2 & 4 that says the church member sold what they had and gave everything to the apostles? Being a 1st century Christian yourself, I hope you don’t own anything.😃

Pastors are not allowed to be married. There are no elders in every church.

WE are aided by tradition which is a very helpful way of understanding what the early church taught and how they worshiped…read the early church fathers

Dokimas:
here is what you said and this is just one of them.

**The OP said that the CC is not the original church which I agreed with. I would say that no non-catholic Christian church is either putting us all in the same boat, so to speak. Many individuals in the churches mentioned are no doubt part of the First Church of Jesus Christ, His Body and Bride. Our part is obey the Head of the Church, put aside the differences and preach the Gospel so all may get a chance to hear and follow Jesus. **
