Tweetymom, if you honestly dont understand the faith then please ask questions - we would love to help but simply to pass negative comment about the church is not good for you or anyone here. Perhaps you can start with what sacraments you do agree with and we could work from there?
I have already stated what I do not believe in at least a hundred times. Most of them are not scriptual and the answer I get is because Jesus gave the CC the authority to make these rules. But what you donot see or choose to not see is that i do not believe that the CC is mentioned by Jesus anywhere. I already know all the verses etc. that you will post. I do not agree that Jesus said the CC was in charge of anything. You choose to believe He meant the CC and I do not. 🤷

Have you all thought about participating it the non-Christian section section and posting where we agree?

So Jesus gave Peter the keys (symbolizing authority) and told him the gates of hell would not prevail against the Church for fun? Where is it in the Bible that Jesus put any other Church in authority or no church at all? Doesn’t seem logical to me. Who do you think Jesus meant if not the Catholic Church? Some Protestant Church that would not come into existence for another x number of years?

So are you saying non Catholics is non Christian? Or did I misunderstand your post?
Nope…you’ve put words in my mouth. That is where threads that are not Catholic are started. That goes for muslims…Jews…buddhists and others.

Non-Catholic Christians are just that…CHRISTIANS! Brothers and sisters in Christ.

I was suggesting that instead of fighting with each other…we unite and spread the Word to those that don’t believe.

It’s my opinion and it could be true (or not).
does that mean that us Catholics opinion could be the one Truth?

"Let us note that the very tradition, teaching, and faith of the
Catholic Church from the beginning, which the Lord gave, was preached
by the Apostles, and was preserved by the Fathers. On this was the Church founded;
and if anyone departs from this, he neither is nor any longer ought to be called a Christian.

Believers are the Church.

Maybe you need to read what you posted instead of jumping to conclusions I was saying something out of line

Go ahead and try to defend your catholic faith if you think it needs defending. My faith in the Lord Jesus Christ DOES NOT need defending. The truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is kept by the Power of the Holy Spirit. Nothing can prevail against the Holy Spirit and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What does need defending is why I have hope. The verse I quoted is relates to the unbelievers questioning why I have hope. I only have real hope if my hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ with meekness and fear.
Might I ask how you are so certain that you have interpreted the Bible 100% correctly? Are you infallible?

I understand the non-Catholic section to refer to all faiths that are not Catholic. Christians are Christian regardless of denomination.

Muslims…jews…buddhists…atheist…ETC are all non-Catholic. I have no less respect for Protestants than Catholics. You seem to be very arguementative.

Like I said I misread your post.

If we did this together. we as Catholics might have to give up the Catholic teachings.

can you imagine a Catholic saying: oh you will need to be baptized, you will need confession, and for that you will need a priest. you will need to obey the Church’s teachings.

and a protestant saying: oh no you dont need none of that.

which church would you like them to learn the Faith from?

We need Christ. That is the core of all Christian faith. 🙂
