I believe here he is referring to the fact that we are changing things that have always been seen as the truth. This is done in the name of inclusion.Your characterization is not exactly correct in respect to Christians. Since Christians follow Christ and He tells us in Jn 14:6, I am the truth. Their belief in Christ is not opposite belief. I’m not sure anyone is saying there is not one Truth. I know I’m not. You do understand though the difference between the words believing, faith, and knowing, don’t you? You do understand don’t you there is a difference between you believing only you have the truth on every single issue vs presuming to know as a fallible human that only you have everything figured out correctly with 100% absolute certainty that only you are right?
Regardless of how glorious you might imagine heaven and God to be, can your human mind truly fathom exactly how glorious until we are at home in heaven with Him?
This is a very divisive subject and I don’t bring it up to start a debate of the issue only to illustrate a point. Abortion is seen by the Church as intrinsically evil, it is always evil. This means simply there are no situations that allow the choice to be just.
But many believe it is a personal choice that each person makes for him or herself. The simple point is, it’s not the choice it is the act that is always wrong according to Church teaching. So even though my wife and I make a legal and society supported choice to abort, it is still intrinsically wrong. Even if a woman’s life or health is an issue or in cases of incest or rape, the act is still intrinsically wrong. It doesn’t matter what the law or society believes.
That is objective truth; there is nothing relative to anything else except truth.
Please remember I did not bring up abortion to debate the subject, only as an example of a serious issue we are all familiar with.
