I was eating my lunch today and looked at the lid of my Yoplait yogurt and noticed that it was time for the yearly Save Lids to Save Lives campaign. I looked at the lid a little closer, and was horrified to realize that the program supported the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation, who gave over $600,000 to Planned Parenthood in 2009-2010.
While I don’t think I committed a mortal sin, I’m finding myself getting lost in scrupulous thoughts. Do I throw away the two yogurts that I have in the fridge, or eat them since they are paid for? Do I never buy Yoplait again, or only not buy the yogurt that specifically supports the Susan G. Komen foundation? Or do I simply abstain completely and offer it up for the intention of saving the unborn?
