“they shall not enter into my rest”
God gives us all the opportunity we need to make our life
on this earth like a little heaven, yet so many times we find
it difficult to “enter into His rest”. Everyone at church knows
everything about God, yet there is unrest, because people
disagree and strive for their own way. It’s the same way in a
family. In fact, all Christians know about Jesus, yet they are
split in a “million” denominations – unrest. This reading
promises that believers Will enter into His rest, no matter how
long it takes…
The psalm says that we will tell His glorious deeds to the
generation to come. And who are those people who have yet
to be born? What shall we tell them about God? If we could
only say 3 glorious deeds that God has done to the next
generation, what would they be? Would they be things in our
own life or things from the Bible?
“It became known that He was at home” – Hey, didn’t He say
that the Son of Man has no where to rest His head? I thought
that meant He didn’t have a home. Did He buy a house in
Capernaum? Or maybe being a carpenter, built His own?
Or was His home really Peter’s or another apostle’s?
So He was in the house, “preaching the word” to them, and then
they lower down the paralytic. I would like to know just exactly
what He was saying at the moment the paralytic arrived. I’ll
bet that whatever it was, would be well remembered.
Now, in order to heal the man, Jesus says, “your sins are
forgiven”. This is very mysterious. How do we know which of
our medical conditions are caused

Now, in order to heal the man, Jesus says, “your sins are
forgiven”. This is very mysterious. How do we know which of
our medical conditions are caused
- by our own sins
- so that God’s power may be shown in our healing
- by the devil, with God’s opinion being “my grace is sufficient
for you” - just natural, a part of life
