As you wish; your choice, your understanding.

God Bless, and I hope that your life is fulfilled whichever path you may choose to take.

Cheers

shhh. silent. can you here that.? it is the sound of the fallen one having one heck of a laugh. soon he will have another soul within his grasp.

how does one turn his back on Truth? simple. being ignorant of scripture. thus, becoming ignorant of teachings. explore our faith. question our faith. however, do not abandone our faith with only a limited knowledge of sacred scripture.

we call this a wash out. you didn’t make it. you came upon a roadblock and you gave up. better luck with something that offers less effort on your part.

shame. all that potential, and no cigar.

I drives me crazy when Catholics think they know what the Catholic Church teaches when they clearly don’t.
I know enough to realize Jesus left us** one chuch**.
He is one with His church.
To leave His church, is to leave Him.
If you deny the truth then you deny Jesus because they are one in the same.

Learn your faith and your history!

You are dead wrong my friend.

If you found yourself thinking that rubbish, then the fact is that it’s between your ears and nowhere in the teachings of the Catholic Church and you need to make very sure that you find and adhere to the truth.

If you choose to misinterpret the tract you mention, (and I have read it), the no wonder you have misunderstandings about the Catholic faith. I spent far more time than you have so far in clearing up all the stuff that I thought I knew after growing up in the faith for about 17 years. I somehow doubt that you have prayed and studied your way through all this and realized that what you found yourself thinking is wrong in the Catholic faith.

Apocalypsis
Laziness combined with anger and bitterness. Need to pray for the fellow.

Ummmmm…
I wonder the real reason why he is leaving.
Which moral teaching is he having conflict with in his life?

It makes one wonder…

I pray that the Holy Spirit leads him to the truth and gives him the graces to live that truth.

It’s sad to see so many people willing to put another person down.

Tired of the discussions? With only 22 posts? You gave up that easily?
As much as I hate to believe these things, especially on forums such as these, trolls are everywhere. 🙂

I do however hope, should this not be a typical “trolling”, that he finds his way back to faith with the Catholic Church.

A simple search through his posts reveals he has brought this up before. Why again? Attention?
He needs prayer.

I had a friend at work that was brought up Catholic, but was not catechized and got nothing out of the Mass. He told me he was leaving the faith about 6 years ago, because he wasn’t getting fed at Mass.

I told him I’d rather him going to a Protestant church then skipping a Catholic Mass (which is what he was doing as a Catholic).

Well, he finally realized that while he was languishing in church after church (initially they’d motivate him, but then he realized it was all show), I was growing in my faith attending the same mass that he would sleep through.

Well, he told me he’s coming back to the Church!!!

Maybe “Love my wife” will come to realize just what he’s walking away from and come back across the river. I still can’t imagine, though, how someone can realize what the Eucharist is and willingly walk away from it.

The Catholic Catechism on merit:

2006. The term “merit” refers in general to the recompense owed by a community or a society for the action of one of its members, experienced either as beneficial or harmful, deserving reward or punishment. Merit is relative to the virtue of justice, in conformity with the principle of equality which governs it.

2007. With regard to God, there is no strict right to any merit on the part of man. Between God and us there is an immeasurable inequality, for we have received everything from him, our Creator.

**2008. ** The merit of man before God in the Christian life arises from the fact that God has freely chosen to associate man with the work of his grace. The fatherly action of God is first on his own initiative, and then follows man’s free acting through his collaboration, so that the merit of good works is to be attributed in the first place to the grace of God, then to the faithful. Man’s merit, moreover, itself is due to God, for his good actions proceed in Christ, from the predispositions and assistance given by the Holy Spirit.

I never really believed your nonsense anyway.

But thanks for the five fun years of screwing my life around!

I’ll recenter my faith in Christ now. Real Christianity is faith in the teacher and not the teaching. That’s not to say the teachings aren’t important, but they come secondary.

My revelation came at Mass during Lent. I decided to attend Mass every day for Lent. One day at communion, I realized that I was going to Mass with a sense that God owed me certain graces for going to Mass. I was working for God’s grace. I realized I can’t do that. I cannot merit a single grace. Some of you will say that that is not Church teaching, but Catholic Answers even has a tract on how we can merit some graces. Oh, but you’ll distinguish between “actual” and “sanctifying graces.” Nonsense. Grace is grace, and none of it can be merited.
Here is a wonderful quote from St. Pius X in regard to daily Mass and the reception of the Eucharist:
Holy Communion is the shortest and the safest way to Heaven. There are others: Innocence, for instance, but that is for little children. Penance, but we are afraid of it. Generous endurance of the trials of life, but when they come we weep and ask to be spared. The surest, easiest, shortest way is by the Eucharist (St. Pius X).
And here is my husband’s response to someone who was leaving our church to become a Protestant.
I’d rather have knives thrown at me during daily Mass than to leave the faith and join another (Tom O’Toole).

Goodbye, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Blaming the Church for your sins and failings? Yeah, you’ll find happiness somewhere else…NOT!

Good Luck, I’ll remember you in my next rosary.
