Proponents of socialized healthcare like to characterize its private provision as callous and uncaring – prioritizing the patients’ money over their lives and permitting those without money to suffer and die.

However, this is blatantly untrue, and the argument against socialized healthcare goes much further than this. Socialized healthcare is guilty of the very fault that private healthcare is alleged to have. Under government healthcare, government providers prioritize their own cost savings above the lives and well-being of their patients.

Come on.

These people who write these opinions have absolutely no clue of how the Healthcare system operates. I’ve been a Paramedic longer than i’d like to admit, in 3 different states. I’ve seen some of the worst, most messed up situations resulting from insurance companies, HMOs, and anything else you can think of.

My county in south Florida now issued a directive at the “request” of several large providers. It used to be that a patient had the choice of which hospital to go to when calling 911, and being transported by ambulance. Being Medics, and knowing how each hospital will treat certain types of cases, we would offer “suggestions” on where they might like to go.

For example, a patient with severe cardiac conditions and no insurance will most definitely benefit from going to Hospital A directly, instead of a closer facility that will quickly treat them, and bounce them without a thought. We used to take them right to Hospital A, with an advanced cardiac center who could not release them without appropriate treatment. This obviously cost ALOT of money to the providers, and to the State. NOW, we are mandated to take patients to the closest facility, unless it is not a Level 1 Trauma center in cases of severe trauma.

It’s all about money. And I really don’t care either. I do what I think is best for the patient. What we HAVE to put a stop to is the ability of hospitals and providers from being able to go after personal assets and property when patients cannot pay for medical bills for severe accidents, life threatening illnesses, and general unforeseen medical conditions.

Eliminate that, and Heathcare will begin to right itself, and you will see a huge difference. Instead of tens of millions of dollars spent on collection agencies, lawyers, and courts, Healthcare can re-invest that money and bring down everyday Healthcare costs. Instead of States spending hundreds of millions of dollars on useless nonsense, they could subsidize life threatening illnesses and accidents, because in fact, the State has a duty to protect and secure the well being of its citizens. EVeryday medical expenses would be the responsibility of the individual, which would have MUCH lower prices because of all the eliminated fighting and litigation.

THANK YOU. ANOTHER EXAMPLE FOR PEOPKLE WHO HAVE NO CONCEPT OF HOW THINGS REALLY WORK. MY DAUGHTER, WHILE CERTAINLY NA ANFEL, DID EVERTHING SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO IN THIS AMERICAN SOCIETY, TRO THE POIT THAT IF WE DID SUCH THINGS HER LIFE WOULD BE CONSIDERED A SUCDESS. SHD GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL. WORKED, SAVED HER MAONE, PAID FOR COLLEGE , GOA CA CAREER AS A PHYSICAL THERAPIST. SHE WAS HIRED BY ONE OPF THE 3 MOST PRESTIGIOUS FACILITIES FOR THIS TYPE OF CAR, WHERE SHE HAD DON HER RESIDENCY, EVEN THOUGH IT WS 30000 MILES FROM HOME. SHE WORKED VERY HARD GOT GLOWING REVIEW, WENT UP THE PROMOTION LADDER WWROTE MATERAIKL PUBLISHE DBY HER PROGFESSIONAL MAGAZINE, AND WAS HONORED HEN SHWE LEFT. (SHE COULDNT TAKE THE EARTHQUAKES. SHE CAME TO MINNEOTA WENT THROUGHT THE SAME PROCEDURE, WITH THE SAME RESULTS. SHEN HAS WORKED ALL HER LIFE. RECEIVED NUMEROUS RECOGNITION INNTHAT WORK. SHE HAS SAVED HER MONEY. SHE BOUGHT A HOUSE AND IS PAYING FOR IT. THE LIST COULD GO ON THEN SHE GOT ILL. SHE IS ILL WITH A DISEASE THAT IS GENETIC AND VERY RARE. THERE ARE ONLY 100M NKNOWN CASES IN THE US. THE MINIMUM LENGHT OF TIME BEFORE SHE CAN EVEN BEGIN TO THINK OF A CURE IS 18 MONTH. SHE IS INCAPACITED TO THE POINT WHERE SHE CAMMOT WORK. SHE HAD EXCELLENT HOSPITALIZTION AT OWRK, HOSPITALIZATION WHICH COST 800.00 A MONTH PLUS DEDUCTABLE. WHEN SHE BECAME INCAPACITATED HER HOSPITALIZATION AT WORK CARRIED FOR HER AS LONG AS IT COULD, (EVEN CHEATED A LITTLE) THE HER WORKERS COLLECTED ENOUGHT O KEEP IT GOING FOR 2 MONTHS. SHE IS NOW PAYING FOR HERSELF—WITHOUT A JOB OF COURSE. SHE WILL SONNREACH THE MAXIMNUM ALLOWABLE EXPENSE UNDER HER POLICY (I1.000.000 AGTRER THAT WE DONT KNOW WHERE TO GO.EANWHILE SHE HAS APPLIES FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE STATE. UNFOTUNATELY SHE SAVED SO MUCH OF HER MONEY WHILE SHE WAS WAOKING THAT SHE IS NOT ELIGIBLE. SHE WILL HAVE TO SPEND ALL THAT MONEY UNTIL HER ASSETS TOTAL NO MORE THAN 2,000.00 BEFOR SHE EVEN BECOMES ELIGIBLE TO APPLE. WWHY SOULD THIS BE TRUE, THAT SHE DOES WHAT SHE IS ENCOURAGE D TO DO AND LOSES OUT. IN ADDITION SHE WILL SOON LOOSE HER HOUSE, BECAUSE SHE CANNOT KEEP UP WITH THE MORTGAGE… ALONG WITH MUCH OF ANYTHING ELSE SHE OWNS, nOW REMEMBER THIS IS A WOMAN WHO HAS DONE EVERYTING SHE IS SUPPOSED TO DO. SHE IS BEING PENALIZED BECAUSE SHE DOEW SO. SOCIAL SECI=URITY WILL TAKE AT LEAST 18 MONTHS BEFORE THEY GET AROUND TO HANDLING HER REQUEST FOR DISABILITY PAYMENT. 18 MONTHS. WHY>???AND THIS IS THE TIME IT WILL TAKE WITH TWIO US SENATORS AT LEAST PUSHING THENM A LITTEL BECAUSE OF LETTERSITTEN TO THEM. PLEASE CONSIDER WHAT YOUR SITUATION WOULD BE FOR THAT 18 MIONTHW IN YOUR FAMILY. A SOCIALIZED FORM OF HEALTH CARE WOULD NOT SOLVE ALL HER PROBLEM BUT IT WOULD CWERTAINLY HELP. WE ARE, IN EFFECT, THE LAST WESTERN DEVELOPED, CIVILIZED COUNTRY NOT TO HAVE A FORM OF SINGLE PAYER MEDICAL. ALL OF THE REPORT UNIVERSAL SATISFACTION WITH THEIR PLANS, AND ALL OF THE REPORT VIRTUALL UNANIMOUS BETTER HEALTH CARE STATISTICS (EXCPET THE TWHEN YOU COMPARE THOS IN THE U S WHO ARE IN THE TOP 20% OF INCOME COMPAREDM TO THE SAME GROUP IN THEIR COUNTRIES. PHIL GRAHAM, WHDEN HE WAS SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE (DIED IN THE WOOL CONSERVATIVE, AT LEAST UP TILL YEATERDAY) SAID IN A REPUBLICAN CAUCUS, IF THE DEMOCRAT SUCXCEWED IN PASSING EALTH CARE WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ELECT A REPUBLICASN CONGRESS FOR 100 YEARS. COULD HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT.
DOES THIS CASE STUDY HELP ANY. DO YOU THINK BILL GATES WOULD UNDERSTAND WVWN 10 PERCENT OF WHAT IS WRON WITH THE SYSTEM.

Forget about health care reform; forget about entitlements… worry about energy.
