I think the Coptic refugees from Somalia that are moving into Kenya might disagree with you.
In my years here at CAF, this is one of the saddest things I have ever read. I have never, ever, laughed at someone of a different religion. That hating and belittling someone is something to be proud of in your country is tragic. This breaks my heart to know that Somalia is in such bad shape. I can’t fathom the pain it must cause to live every day with hate in ones heart.I don’t post on this forum anymore because I’ve met some of the worst human beings while I was here and I don’t ever want to expose myself to that kind of petty meanness but I saw this and just had to respond. What is wrong with you people? Did you’re parents teach you as children to be blind followers and never question what you’re told? Not to be rude in anyway but the absurdity of this article is only trumped by the absurd comments made here. Does anybody here know any Somalis at all? If you did you would know as a people we respect our religious leaders and even at times we may listen to them when they tell us things but there is a line that has been drawn in the sand, they know this, we know this and if they {the religious leaders} value their heads, they don’t cross it, ever. We, as Somalis, don’t listen to anybody, we don’t like authority, its why our country is in the shape it is in now; we do what we want to do, when we want to do it and how we want to do it. Either every man, woman and child in that village is 110% behind this new rule or it’s a lie, they’re no two ways about it. Ask a Somali.
and fyi Somali has a 100% Muslim population. We’ll do everything in our power to stop someone from converting to Christianity or anything else but at the end of day if that person chooses to convert we don’t persecute them in any shape or form. They’ll become a freak show, people will come from all over the land just to catch a glimpse of them, and we’ll point and stare and make lots and lots of comments; we’ll make it into a spectator sport. Anybody who says either ways is flat out lying and trying to push their own agenda. The only things you could convert to where we may come at you with pitch forks are atheism, communism and/or Marxism. These we hate with a passion, Christians aren’t even a blimp on our radar and when you are you’re there for general amusement; I know its mean but you guys make us laugh.
Here’s an idea:
Maybe the flurry of posts bashing Fatuma’s home country and religion made fatuma upset, and so she’s retaliating by saying that she laughs at you all.
That might be true except all that occured before Fatuma’s post was a news report, people saying that would pray for Somali’s and people being thankful that they have freedom of religion. If that’s bashing then I’d hate to see the reaction if something mean was said.Doesn’t make it right, but you could possibly understand how someone would be upset by all the insults to her country and religion on this thread, don’t you?
The beheadings will continue until morale improves. And what attitude is that?
We don’t kill over religion, we kill over Joe looking at bob the wrong way; trivial, useless, mundane things, things that are so stupid and beyond rational thinking you don’t even know where to start to fix things. But, wonders of all wonders, are; fixing things. We’re making some progress I didn’t even think we had in us to make. We could have been Taliban Afghanistan and psycho Saudi a millions times over, a million and one times over but we’re not, we’ve never been and we’ll never be. The trick is the relationship we have with our religion. This whole Islamist court thing is gonna blow over soon, that’s why a lot of us aren’t talking about it, why talk about dust in the wind?
Perhaps I’m not phrasing it right, Christians are like an enigma, a really strange thing; they’ve been our neighbors for half a millennium and colonized us for a bit over a 100 years and you’re still that weird thing in the corner we don’t get. The Russians were only with us for like a sec and we get them and we hate. We don’t even bother anymore trying to understand you, it’s something we’ve learned to live with and simply accept.
Btw, I’m anti-killing but deliberately did not state this on purpose because a) my opinion is not what I was trying to clarify and b) I’ve been on this forum back in ‘05 for months and I don’t want to place myself back in this…whatever you people call this place where there is only hate and anger and closed minds. This is my last post, you’re not sucking me in vortex of hate again
Free will is a gift from God!You are taking free will for granted like it is a human right…maybe in this country it is, but not everywhere. If someone told me I would have to pray 5 times a day or be beheaded, I would but it would become a habit, not something I wanted to do. God wants us to choose him…not be coerced into worshipping him. How great to be able to pray 5 times a day and have the support of government, but to be required? Nope, doesn’t fit God’s plan…
At least they have heads. Apparently not always a surety in some areas of Somalia.Learn from Meedo and Pro. They have level heads.
Good Point Jim…I guess this means the chances of them visiting in Somalia is slim too… I know they are Muslim so they are much safer than Christians…but somebody might misconstrue their levelheadedness for being a gasp Christian sympathizer. At least they have heads. Apparently not always a surety in some areas of Somalia.
The beheadings will continue until morale improves.

I think most Christians can easily live with mockery. It’s the killing we object to. Deal with it.we mock you, not kill you; deal with it
Well, we have yet to hear Christians killing other Christians for apostasy. But we have certainly seen a lot of Islamists assaulting or killing apostates from Islam, which is why you don’t hear of any muslims openly announcing their conversion to another faith. The Islamic religion itself mandates severe punishment for apostasy.Besides, given the Church’s humanitarian record, I don’t think we can really criticise. How is killing apostates from Christianity any better than killing apostates from Islam ?I think this is why many people won’t touch religion - any religion - with a ten-foot pole - they’ve seen or heard what religion does, once it’s in power.

The label is virtually the only difference between Muslim & Christian frightfulness. ##
I know. I have a photo of it in stills one by one. I dont have an actual video.PS: Would you like me to post the link to a video of an actual stoning? I can do so. Although it is not for the weak of stomach. It may lead to nightmares. Fair warning.
