So, recently, I’ve found that I have feelings for one of my guy friends…and I’ve also found that he has feelings for me too…and I’ve also found that two of our friends are totally busted because I’ve recently found it was their intention to get us together from the start…Anyway, he’s really sweet, he’s a good Catholic, funny as heck, extremely intelligent, and a real gentleman…(so I don’t have to worry about my dad, uncles, little brother and best guy friends killing him :D) We also agree a lot on our life outlooks, on politics (we’re both very pro-life but still liberal in some other respects), very into our respective cultures (different, but still similar in some ways), and apparently, not only do our friends approve, they were the masterminds behind it all, apparently…

I also had this huge realization. You see, I’ve only dated once and that was long distance. Other than that, if I ever detected feelings, I’d run. I’d be afraid of A) throwing my life away (I know, bogus, but I have been fed that lie by well-meaning older adults, you can still do well in school, get a job, and have someone you may end up marrying in your life) B) ruining friendships (also bogus, because the one guy I did date is still a friend today) and C) getting hurt (again…you’ve gotta risk getting hurt at some point or another).

But these few weeks, it’s like God has been trying to tell me a few things…like, “As long as you are prudent and seek Me, you will be happy…” “You know not the plans I have for you…” “Why don’t you think you can serve Me and fight for the poor and oppressed with someone at your side?” “This doesn’t mean you’re getting married tomorrow…”

Further, when discussing this with one of my housemates (not Catholic, but still a deeply devoted Christian), she gave me some sage advice about future plans: “K, you just don’t know…Who’s to say, if he’s meant to be in your life, you can’t travel and do what you want WITH him? Maybe these feelings you have are temporary and this won’t last…or if it does and you know it’s from God, you won’t worry…but fear is not prudence and is not from God.”

In any case, we are taking it slow, with prayer…neither of us is rushing to the altar in any case (we’ve got to graduate and be fully supporting ourselves)…but I may end up seeing someone:) And he’s Catholic!!! PRACTICING!!! Yay!

practicing Catholic young man? you’ve found a real treasure. 👍 You must have some good friends who know you well and care for you too, that is a real blessing.

your friend is right, you never know what the future holds, but it seems like you are at a turning point emotionally and spiritually in life and seeing things in a different light. God’s opening your heart and mind to His plans, let Him do that He’s very good at it.:D:p

Prayers for you and this young man:):gopray2:

Hey that’s GREAT news! One day at a time… with prayer along the way!
🙂 🙂 🙂

Oh the excitment of a new relationship!
Nice sounds like you got your priorities in order!

Is this the guy friend that you are always, always, always talking about? If so, I’ve known it would eventually happen.

That’s funny. I could have sworn something was going to develop there. Good luck though. I am happy for you!

Aw young love! 😃 I get so emotional about it…it’s so sweet to be able to meet someone great! I am very happy for you, really happy for you! I am also glad you seem to have your priorities in a pretty organized matter and that you two are taking it one day at a time. I know things seem a little hard when you do with the anticipation of tomorrow, and I am still learning to take things one day at a time, and it’s harder than it sounds…But…this morning I read some interesting Bible verses regarding consolation and I feel so much better about everything. Praying does help and it even helps more when there are great people praying for you, helps give you peace a lot faster than you can imagine.

Congrats on your new relationship, GOD willing all will continue going well.

Keep in touch and we hope GOD blesses you throughout your education, career and this new love.

God bless, have a wonderful day!

That’s all good advice, am really happy for ya.

Thanks everyone!

So far, so good. It’s going slow, but I need it to be slow. Going to school full time and nearly working as much will be keeping me busy and I do need to focus on that. But we’ll see where God takes it…because that’s whose opinion is much needed…

Excited for you! You two will be in my prayers… God bless! 🙂
