Are we co-creators with GOD?
No. We have no divine nature with which to affect any part of the creation of the universe. The only thing we can be gifted with is a minor understanding of the nature of creation by the fact that we are able (in a very limited sense) to create small and simple devices.

didn’t really mean the universe and trees and such like that.
what about children? do we co-create them?

Are we co-creators with GOD?
Yes we are co-creators with God! Physical children, spiritual children! New life is only possible in Him who is life. Theology of the Body–great new articulation of ancient Christian wisdom. That we *are *co-creators with God is why sex is sacred. It is why separating sex from co-creation empties, distorts and de-natures sex. Because it attempts to leave the Creator out of what is essentially a co-creative act. (my computer doesn’t “do” video…sorry)

We are co-creators when we conceive and birth children…🙂

I liked the message…from the christian minister on you tube…accountability…

The second link you provided was new age hogwash (my opinion)…yes, I am good…because everything that God creates is good…but I am no Goddess.

I see what you mean now. Yes, in a sense… though I’d be careful to express the limitations of that sense very strictly lest one fall into heresies (I can’t see youtube videos, I’m at work… hence the misunderstanding)

Thank you! I always believed that GOD loves us so much that he allows us to co-create with him on certain things.

Thank you!

No. We have no divine nature with which to affect any part of the creation of the universe.
But Baptism gives us a share in divine life. Baptism washes away Original Sin and allows God’s divine life to enter our soul. Baptism makes us divine–it makes us children of God.

Well, that is humble anyway, and we all need humility when we start to think we are masters of the universe! But you may indeed be forgetting that we do help create the most amazing organic living rational animals who have eternal souls!

NOW WE"RE TALKING!!!
AWESOME ANSWER!!!

Baptism in no way, shape, or form makes us divine. Don’t fall prey to the same sin as adam and eve… we are made in God’s IMAGE, not as Gods ourselves. Our share in divine life, initiated by baptism, is to be instilled with GRACE from God, not to be made into gods.

we are not masters of the univers, nor do we create souls. We have a part in the birthing of children, but it is God and God alone who grants life and soul to humanity. To think that we exist of our own accord, or that God NEEDS us to do His great works, is to place flaws on God… flaws which are heretical in nature.

Let’s slow down. Baptism gives us a share in divine life, that’s straight out of any catechism… Baptism makes us children of God, and brothers in Christ. God comes into our souls and lives there. In this sense we literally and really share in God’s very life. No, we do not become “gods”; but we do share in God’s divinity in the way stated–we have in us divinity, so we are divine “in a sense”–but NOT “absolutely”, OK?
we are not masters of the univers, nor do we create souls.
The point is that we CO-create children, who are composed of body and soul. No, we wouldn’t want to talk about men creating souls. That *would *be a mistake.
To think that we exist of our own accord, or that God NEEDS us to do His great works, is to place flaws on God… flaws which are heretical in nature.
Well, yes, there is a long list of heresies, and this would be included. Yep, heresy is bad: Distinctions are good…

Have you read much in the area of Theology of the Body?

Wow! What have I created here? “creation of souls”?
That is in no way what I was talking about. I see some people have a hard time accepting whom they truly are.

I tend to lean to what promethieus is saying more so.

Just my gut feeling here.🙂

Yes, we are called to be saints but lets slow down a bit and not get carried away.:o

question here!!
So when you are reborn in the spirit what are you???
Just want opinions not a massacre! LOL!

okay, maybe we have 2 different ideas of what it is to be reborn.
The way it was preached to me was that once you accept Jesus as your lord and savior and repent your sins your are clean by the blood of Christ your old self is dead and you are a new creation in Christ.
Like I said, it may be just different ways that we were taught.

Thanks for the comments!

Hows the family?

yes, and we realize how much He loves us that He (Jesus) called Virgin Mary His Mother.

Is Virgin Mary a co-creator? 🙂

Well, let’s see, she is the Mother of the Church, and spiritual mom to each member of the Church. So she would be spiritual mom to each new member of the Church, too. As a mother, she generates life. If she generates spiritual life in a baby’s soul, then she, too, would be co-creating that baby…where Jesus is, there is His Mother…?
