I would suggest that I completely get what the story is saying and you do not. That is my belief. As such, a person who is a self professed as Religious Tolerant and non-evangelical in their own beliefs would support my belief of the story and encourage me to delve deeper into my own beliefs and understandings of the story. But that’s not what you want. You are not what you think you are as is clearly seen by your posts here. Suggesting that I just don’t “get it” where you do is not religious tolerance, it’s neo-liberalism’s relativistic snobbery. These ae the ideas that spring from such a world view: I know better than others so therefore what I think IS THE ONLY way to think. All others that disagree with me are intolerant and I will put them in their place.

I left off posting to this forum for a few days, while the moderators tried to restore some limited sanity.

During those few days, I reflected on the time I spent here, debating, and also the many debates I have seen here and on other forums.

I have also been reading a very excellent book by a Chasidic rabbi who mourned the fact that the world’s religions have brought shame to spirituality due to their fighting and even in-fighting.

I finally understood what he was saying, based on what I have seen on this forum and other forums, debating I also took part in.

I deeply regret any involvement I had in letting others “pull my chain”, and I promised myself I would not let anyone do that again.

I truly do see and believe that the countless wars that have been fought in the name of God, and the countless debates that have gotten way over the top in the name of God, must stop.

Atheists and nonreligious people laugh at the very idea of believing in God when they see how Jews and Christians, and Catholics and Protestants, have behaved with each other.

It is time. For most religions, the physical weapons have long since been laid down. Now it is time to lay down the verbal weapons. Share your faith if you feel called to, but do not try to impose it on people who do not want it, or who have already heard it too many times.

Practice your own faith, serve your God as you feel called to. Explain your faith when asked, but why can’t we all try to do away with the religious triumphalism that is eating away like a cancer at so many religions?

It doesn’t matter what religion we’re talking about…religious triumphalism sounds just as horrible whether it is sounded from the Vatican, Mecca and Medina, Jerusalem, or Boro Park.

You are sorry to hear that I found Christ? You sound very angry at my conversion. I am use to fellow Jews who were angry at me for a little bit, then they accepted me. Why not accept me instead of being rude?

I recognized it for what it was, stopped replying, and alerted the Moderator. It now seems resolved, so maybe it might be a good idea if we all put it behind us.

So tell me, all this talk about the Jews being in covenant with God has been leading. It is for one main purpose----to get back the land in Palestine to which they fell. Jews are entitled, and they are going to use the Catholic church to help them accomplish that task. What better license to accomplish their land-grab than the “holy” sanction of the Catholic church.
In order to secure the Temple Mount, Israel will need help. That is why they have “employed the services” of the United States, the United Nations, and the Catholic church.

Since Jews comprise about two thirds of the membership of the UN. Just telling it the way I see it.

I understand you are new to this forum, but forum rules require that you remain on the topic. This topic is established by the person who started this thread. This topic is not NOT about Jews who convert. If you want to discuss that, I would suggest that you start a topic. That is what the moderator (Jo Benedict) meant when she reminded us all to stay on the topic.

Neither one of these posts were on the topic.

You may not be aware that on internet forums, it is generally considered slightly rude to corner someone in the manner you have done. While I support your conversion and welcome you the Catholic Church, the one True Church which has the Fullness of the Revelation from God, you will have a much better experience here if you stick with forum rules.

I have to agree with pretty much everything b_justb posted and I will reiterate what was posted. The Quote states that both Judaism and Christianity are false religions, that they both got it wrong. That is not reconciable with the teachings of either faith.

Hm, yet you say you are a Jew? You speak as if you were never one, the way you refer to Jews… If you want to discuss your religious situation you can, but not in THIS thread, because here it is off-topic.

Reb Zalman wrote that story…this is one reason why I find it so hard to fathom how some can see it as anti-Jewish as well as anti-Christian. A Chasidic rabbi is not anti-Jewish (and in this case, he is not anti-Christian, either!)

I understood what he was saying when he wrote the story as you seem to also!
