We humans can not think like God.
You are as important to God as his mother Mary. Right at this moment he is holding you and his “Godly heart” is pounding and pouring out a “gazillion” gallons of love for you. In God’s language, the amount “gazillion” is unending, eternal, etc. He doesn’t have a measuring spoon. He will never say this is all the love I am going to give you today. If gazillion means eternal, then there is no difference between His love for Mary and His love for you.
Your so called God is willing to send people “that he loves” to hell and be tortured forever. Christianity is so full of contradictions.

God wills all souls to heaven. We send ourselves to hell by OUR own free will.

Love cannot exist without freedom to accept or reject.

^ Humility or not, its obvious that Mary is a gazillion times more important to God than you are. 😃
God’s plan for humanity is like the painting of an artist. The artist needs brushes of many different sizes to complete his work. He needs very large brushes to set the foundation of the work. However, he also needs many small brushes to fill in all the details.

Does this mean that the artist feels the large brushes are a “gazillion” times more important than the small ones? Should the small brushes be jealous of the large ones? :whacky:

We are all brushes in God’s plan and are all equally important to Him in our roll to fulfill it.

I’m happy being a small brush.🙂

lucky to be chosen.

she is sitting up there being ‘venerated’ as the queen of heaven. There is your god’s favoritism in action. Yahweh is a clear picture of humanity. he’s got favorites just like everybody else.
You already said this in post #14. Please add something new to the discussion.

not if they were made to ‘venerate’ the larger brush.

and youll be a lot happier if people are praying to you.

I just had this conversation with a priest on tuesday night. We were talking about " the beloved disciple", the question was, Does God love some more than others? His answer was quite simple and profound. It has less to do with God loving one of us more, but more to do with how receptive “we” are to that love. Some are more receptive to His love. Kinda simple isn’t it!!

Which Church teaching forces me to venerate Mary?
who said anything about being forced? the church teaches you to pray to mary. that makes her a lot more important than you are.

hey anytime he wants me to be the next queen of heaven worthy of praise & veneration, i’ll be more than 100% receptive. 😃

If I am in a saint in heaven someday people will ask for my prayers intercession, just like I do with our Bessed Mother and other Saints.

If I am any “happier” it will only be because I will be spending all eternity gazing upon the Beatific Vision and in perfect unity with my Lord.

It’s not the power trip Lucifer and other jealous of God think it is.

A priest told me once that God loves some people more than others.

That priest spoke in err.
Actually he was correct. There is an apostle that Jesus loved more than others.

John 13:23
One of Jesus’ disciples, the one Jesus loved, was sitting next to Jesus at the table.

False interpretation of John’s Gospel. Sorry. Here’s the truth:

**Catechism of the Catholic Church **

1934 Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.

First, you need to understand the difficulties of translating ancient Greek to modern English, because English is a very sloppy language. The the problem with most people today is they readily adopt the notion of private interpretation of English scripture translations without even understanding where it came from. There were many words for and forms of “love” in the ancient Greek language. Unfortunately, they all translate to just “love” in English.

If you look at the original Greek text you will notice that the word agapaw,v {ag-ap-ah’-o} is used in John 13:23 which means;
  1. to welcome, to entertain, to be fond of 2) to be well pleased, to be contented.
It would make sense for Jesus to be fond or well pleased with John because of his unwavering loyalty to Jesus, even at the cross. However, it in no way indicates that Jesus actually “loved” him more.

Hope this helps:)

By your logic the verse should have went like this:

One of Jesus’ disciples, the one Jesus was well please with, was sitting next to Jesus at the table.
Are you a better scholar & linguist than the translator of the catholic bible?

John 13:23 (Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible)
*Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. *

What is your authority?

  1. says nothing about favoritism.
  2. mary had a different nature in that she had no original sin, no sinful nature. is this a contradiction or what?
