Another meaningless post that is being positioned as news when it is an opinion piece.

Haha. Yeah, because we don’t want an opinion piece to start a discussion among all the partisans here spouting their opinions.

It is a FACT, not an opinion that the interviewees tried to evade the direct question: “Is it wrong for Trump to ask foreign countries to investigate his rivals?” Trying to garner support among their fellow constituents is one thing. Asking help from foreign countries is quite different.

I can just imagine the self-righteous uproar if a Democrat ever attempted a similar tactics. The criticism and the disdain coming down on them would be equally proper and merited.

I would have made it a three part question, to explore the issue.
  1. Is it wrong for a President to investigate corruption?
  2. What if the target is in their own party?
  3. What if the target is in the opposition party?
Obama’s answers were No, Yes and a resounding NO (heck, just make it up if you have to)

That is NOT the question and it was NOT the question. It is explicitly asking for digging up dirt (real or imaginary) on a political rival during an election. Asking a domestic entity would be acceptable. asking a foreign entity, especially a hostile government is NOT. It is not just unethical, but criminal. Asking for interference with our election process is the number one impeachable offense. Nothing else is needed to remove Trump from the office.

The Republicans who were interviewed are aware of this. They did not dare to answer correctly, they were attempting to evade. Typical of anyone, who has no backbone. The funny thing is that even Lindsey Graham said out loud that it is wrong.

dirt didn’t need to be dug up, Joe supplied it.

Biden was bragging about getting someone fired for investigating the company his son is associated with.

fire him or the country would not get a large sum of money?

it is on video, why is biden denying it now? why is it wrong to investigate it? sounds like biden is corrupt

no guidance needed

How is that dirt? Who is denying it? How is it corrupt? What is the point of an investigation?

They must wait for someone to tell them what their OPINION should be?
They must be looking for more proof that over half the country wants Trump to be removed. If Fox News can’t convince them, I don’t know who will.

So why pressure Ukraine for it?
The keyword is pressure.

The guy on the other end of the phone says there was no pressure

Why was the man fired?

They have the answer.

Was it due to Biden holding back the money?

Yeah, right. Just like the father, whose son was kidnapped by the mafia will deny that any “pressure” was applied.

no pressure
A non-event is tough to prove.
Would you believe Biden’s denials, for example? I doubt it. But you have no problem with accepting the denials of someone very few Americans have heard of?

No, that’s a bizarre comparison.

Get back in touch with reality,

no children or their equivalent were kidnapped by Trump admin

Bizarre. Maybe. No children were “kidnapped”, indeed. But being at the mercy of someone, who has the power to help you, or destroy you (or your country) is a very serious inducement to suck up to that someone. Especially when all you have to do is present a little lie.

I wholly agree with you that Trump’s request is unethical under the circumstances (political gain), however I think the meat of the matter boils down to what constitutes “interference” in an election. I think we’ll see a divide among Trump supporters and opponents on this forum in regards to that question.

the issue is biden admitted it. why is this ignored

Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one’s view’s and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one’s valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.
