May God be with you all.
I welcome your words and congratulate you for your thoughts Ben. I am a Catholic born and still be one 50 year after. But you said that you believe in not more than 20% of the NT. So you supposedly is more Christian than myself. The same I can say about the OT. I know have so much infiltration on it’s Scripture that you also can link it to the prejudice and vanity of it’s writers. If for to be a Jew or a Christian you need to believe in 100% of which is written, then I would be none of these.
What you said about the OT that the Virgin in this Scripture is Israel, sometimes is Jerusalem, is also what I understood is written in there. Also when the Prophets talk about the Messiah they sure are nothing talking about Jesus. It is a distortion introduced by the Gospel’s authors for make up a Justification of the teachings of Jesus. They thought it were necessary for to validate what Jesus said in front of the others Jews views. Excuse me for say that in a Catholic dominion, they put trash as ornament of what was pure gold and now some Christians do not know how to separate one of the other.
The problem with your theory is that, you are making your case in suppositions and not evidences. If you want know what really bad Jesus made you can read in the Gospel of St John. It is the chapter 7. Take a look on everything else later please. At the Knowledge Concerning God we don’t say that read these or that passage because taking passages from various places in the Bible you can apparently justify all of your acts. So for you understand each one one you need to study all. But, for now, I site to you these: “2 Now the Jews’feast of tabernacles was at hand. 3 His brethren therefore said unto him. Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest. 4 For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, show thyself to the world. 5 For neither did his brethren believe in him. 6 Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready. 7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. 8 Go ye up unto his feast; I go not up uet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come. 9 When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee. 10 But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret. (Know I will skip some verses and put these conclusion). 30 Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.”
So, those are not words of mine. They came directly from the Gospel of John. And it states that, Jesus lied at least one time. At the same Gospel, chapter 8, verse 44 you can look at what the “annonimous” author John alleged Jesus said about lies.
I am not saying that Jesus is a liar. In theory we have three possible classification of a liar. The fat, the medium and the occasional. Some of us use the occasional lies for protection of the others or of something. In these case he would be protecting his life because his hours was not yet come. But you can put in another theory, that the author was writing not for to narrate one fact but yes for give some understanding on the Theology. In these case, he perceived not he was putting a lie in the mouth of Jesus. So the doctors who came after the author.
The point that we achieve on the Knowledge Concerning God is that, there are not such a thing of not mistakes in the called Sacred Scriptures. If it was the case, in na human tribunal, a Judge could simple dismiss the case invalidating all the Scripture. But at the Tribunal where the Judge, the Jury and the lowers are those that know God Himself would dismiss only what is wrong and save what is right. In another words, dismiss the trash and put in practice the Golden Teachings.
Please, do meditate on those words. May God Bless you all us He always Blessed Me.
