Would you care to explain why you are Catholic in short summary? Thanks.

Communion with the Lord, fellow believers, mankind, the world God created.

The Eucharist and as St. Peter said:

Simon Peter answered him,
Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life.

John 6:68 GNT

The Joy. Absolute sheer joy. Not just the prospect of some future heaven but a greater, happier life. right now.

Jesus in the Eucharist, celebrating & participating in the Mass, daily Mass, Reconciliation, the Creed, being universal throughout the world, experiencing a child’s Baptism, charishing Marriage, appreciating the Priesthood, understanding Sacred Scripture through the Eucharist, Apostolic Tradition, Papal authority, Pope Benedict, Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Rosary, our ancient prayers, the martyrs, Doctors of the Church, monastic spirituality, Anointing of the Sick, funeral Masses. The Church is simply huge - it takes in both Heaven and Earth.

Because, in my opinion, it makes the most sense. There is probably intelligence behind the creation of the Universe. This would rule out most of the pagan religions like Zeus and stuff who say the chaos just started to evolve into intelligent people. Then, I don’t believe in reincarnation, I just don’t see the point (or any evidence) that we return to a new body. That rules out the eastern religions. I believe in Christ because 12 poor Jewish men wouldn’t just create a fake religion and die for it, so that leaves Christianity. I believe that in Matthew 16 Christ established a church and that this church probably didn’t begin 1500+ years after Christ died, so that only leaves Catholicism.

For me, it is because I know Jesus’ answer to “Quo vadis?” and I want to follow Him. The Catholic Church is the one Jesus Christ founded and which claims an unbroken line of papal succession back to when Jesus gave the office to Peter. But more than that, we have Jesus Christ Himself – the God of the Universe – who comes down from Heaven each day to be available Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Holy Eucharist. I’m in awe that we are loved that much!

Because no matter how much you fight it, Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Light, and the Catholic Church (and those in union with Rome) is The One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

I was completely comfortable and satisfied as a protestant. The Lord took me on a wonderful search for total truth. This was the only faith that explained all of my questions and made sense historically.

Most other churches want to throw out all tradition and then find a link to the early church. The Catholic Church has a legitimate line from Jesus Christ to modern day!

Same here. But then, as a Protestant, the Lord allowed me to face all the unanswered questions I had within but was too afraid to ask. I was too scared to see where it would all lead me…

And now I am a Catholic. Happy, intellectually satisfied and at peace with the Lord. No turning back. Ever.

The Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ - “Behold, I am with you, even to the end of the age” Matthew 28:20

The periods of my life where I have strayed the most from the Church are the periods of my life when I was most miserable. The periods of my life when I have been closest to the Church have made me the happiest. (N.B., it’s not that I was happy and then came back to the Church, nor that I was miserable then fell away from Church teachings, but rather that following Catholicism is the reason for my joy; not following has always caused me misery in the long run.)

“Wheresoever,” he writes, “the bishop appears, there let the people be, even as wheresoever Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.” St.Ignatius of Antioch, written in the 1st century. 👍

Because of all the religions the Catholic church is the one founded and established by Christ. All other denominations are founded and established by ordinary men who had some disagreements with Doctrine. Although most are Christians, they are separated brothers and sisters in Christ, and do not have the Eucharist, nor do they teach the full truth as taught by Christ and His Apostles. The Apostles have passed this teaching on to our (Catholic) Bishops and Priests, who in turn teach us. We have the free will to accept or not accept.

Additionally, all religions (even non-Christian) contain truths, however, it is only the Catholic Church where the fullness of truth is to be found. God became man (incarnate) to show us the way to eternal salvation through Jesus, and what He taught us. He loves us so much that He “lowered” himself by becoming one of us, and dying for us so that we are redeemed and can have life ever after with Him in Heaven (should we accept).

Blessings of our Lord, peace of Christ,
CEM

for the communion of believers when we celebrate mass together, for the loving members - who would help others in time of need, for those priests who give endlessly to the members - and I’m thinking of a priest who went out of his way to visit me in the hospital before surgery and who prayed with me; for those who study the word of God and write beautiful commentaries that inspire all Catholics - as well as non - Catholics; for the nuns who teach or for those sisters who take the time to hear pray petitions and also who teach (or those who did) - and I’m remembering one sister who took me into the convent when I was waiting for my mother (so many years ago - childhood) and she sat with me, she was not only a beautiful person inside - but very caring toward others.

There are so many reasons “why” I love being a Catholic - and I had such a beautiful past with my own mother’s family, her sisters and her mom.
