Something nice your spouse has recently done for you

Last week I casually mentioned to my husband that I was anxiously awaiting the return of a certain Christmas candy. I didn’t think he was listening to me but on Sunday he went to Walgreens to pick up my photos (a nice favor right there) while I was teaching my CCD class and he spotted the candy I had been wanting and brought me two of them. It’s very rare that he does little things like that. I was just so happy that he had not only listened to me but had even thought of me when he saw them in the store. And, he did this on his birthday.

*Oh how awesome!! :love: You know, men are interesting creatures. lol My husband also, just when I think he is not really listening, he will surprise me. How do they do that??? Not give you eye contact, say ‘’‘uh huh, yep, sure thing…’’ haha but prove that they’ve been listening by doing a random act of kindness. lol Was the candy as great as you had remembered? *

Oh wow, that’s great!! How did he surprise you…like where did you think you were going? I’m interesting in how this unfolded. :bounce:
 
My DH pushed me in my chair all around the park and library and took me out to eat, just because it was a nice day and he didn’t want me to not get to enjoy it. :love:

And he’s still doing everything else on my previous list. 😉 😃

You ladies have some awesome husbands! I just love threads like this 👍 (great idea WG!) sure beats the ones that bash their husbands and put them down. 😦
 
My DH made me a grilled ham & cheese sandwich for dinner tonight. I am recovering from major surgery 2 weeks ago & he has taken over ALL of the tasks I would normally do–cooking, cleaning, wash, grocery shopping, etc.

I tried to do the dishes yesterday but he insisted I sit down and rest. Can’t argue with him so I did as I was told.

He has to work the entire week of Thanksgiving so he told me that once he gets a day off, he’s going to do the turkey w/home made stuffing, veggies, & apple crisp for us.

He is the BEST thing that’s ever happened to me. :):):)🙂
 
You know, last night I was wishing someone would ask me this question so I could say what my DH did for me!

He recently got a free copy of a game I really wanted to play on the Nintendo DS. I asked him if I could have a short turn when I got back from doing something, and by the time I got back he was not only ready to give me the game, but he’d even already set up a user on the game for me so I could jump right and start playing!

Yes, we’re video game geeks. I know.

He’s honestly been doing a gazillion nice things for me lately because I’m pregnant and working full time. I really don’t think I could handle everything I’m doing while pregnant without his support.
 
We aren’t married yet, so I don’t know if this counts… but i wanted to add it anyway because it made me happy =] when he got back from his deployment (is in the USAF) he took me out to dinner, and took me shopping! Got a few new things that he insited on buying. Oh and a few days ago we got a free upgrade on one of our cell phones, and he let me use it so that i could have the better phone. thought that was really sweet, especially for a guy that likes all the new electronics and such.

He has also been really good about helping me study for my nursing exams. <3

I have to say that the Ghiradelli Peppermint Squares were quite good. His unexpected ROAK made them even better.
 
:eek:Very nice thread. My dh and I have been going through a hard time and starting to see the light at the end of the tunnell. I was checking people in at work and I got to the next person in line and it was my dh standing there with a dozen roses. He had just come from the marriage counselors and wanted to thank me for putting up with his behaviors. Wow. He also sent my MIL a long email stating that she would be proud of how I am treating him - lovingly but not cosigning any of his stuff. This was hard because my MIL and I haven’t spoken in a very long time and now it turns out the want to come visit us during the holidays with my stepdaughter. Oh boy. 👍

joan, I know you have been having some serious issues with your husband. But, it seems, hopefully it lasts, that your husband is trying very hard to change and be the husband you deserve. I think this is so neat…whatta surprise! :love: And the letter, that is really a wonderful breakthrough. I am hopeful things will continue to go well for you both. You’re always in my prayers. :hug1:

Aw–this is adorable. I have a feeling this will be my son someday,when he marries. He just loves video games, too! haha This was so thoughtful of your husband. 👍
 
That’s funny because last Valentine’s Day I actually bought my dh a copy of a new PS3 game he wanted. Hey why do all the romantic stuff when you get him something he really wants and will think of you when he uses?

Yes but wg…they don’t mean for them…that’s one of the things that makes the marriage sacrament so great…:o:thumbsup:
