A few months ago we got word that our pastor was being reassigned to another parish. I had gotten to be quite fond of him in the past few years, so I was heartbroken.

Coupled with that news was the fact that it was the beginning of the end of the school year, which is always very stressful :bigyikes: (I’m a teacher) and the fact that no replacement pastor had yet been assigned. So we knew we were losing our beloved pastor and had no clue who we were going to get.
It was like a gray cloud following me around for days - and that is normally not me. :nope: I went out into my backyard one afternoon and asked God to take care of this.

To let the reassignment be a good thing for our pastor (who was sad to be leaving us) and also to let it be a good thing for our parish, which struggles at times with attendance and finances. I also asked God to send something to left my spirits. :heaven:
I walked over to a corner of the backyard to move some branches and heard something behind me that sounded like a litter of puppies. I turned around and there in the hollow of a tree right near the ground, were a group of 4 or 5 “toddler” raccoons poking their heads out. They were SO cute.

You couldn’t help but smile. I got my camera and was able to take several pictures - one of which had 3 little faces stacked on top of each other. It is a precious picture and is my wallpaper on my computer.
When I look at it - it’s a reminder that God does hear and answer prayers.
As a postscript - our previous pastor DID end up in what seems like a better place. He hasn’t had an easy assignment for the past several years - pastoring 2 churches at one point - and always took it in stride. And our new pastor is a bit more dynamic and seems like he will at least maintain what we’ve had. And we’ve got our OWN pastor now - we don’t have to share with another parish.

And our previous pastor is close enough to visit when we get too lonesome for him!
So that’s my “God answers prayers fast” story!
