I have been really anxious re: an issue with my teenaged daughter lately. Today it was especially difficult. I said, “Jesus, PLEASE help me see this matter as you do. If it’s not something to fret over, please help me to see that.”

Within in moments, I had several things happen that calmed all of my fears. Thank you Jesus! Just wanted to say that!

Please share if you have had a similar experience. 🙂

I have prayed to St. Anthony a few times if I’d lost something.

And twice I was separated from my family while on trips outside the country.

Such prayers to St. Anthony can be answered quickly. Include in your request to St. Anthony a promise to give some money to the poor box (or to St. Anthony’s Bread).

My choir director lost her cell phone and couldn’t find it. She had looked in her purse five times. We prayed to St. Anthony and I prayed to St. Anthony when I was driving home. The choir director found the cell phone in her purse right after choir.

Once (before I started RCIA) I couldn’t remember the Saint who had prayed to be rid of sin (but not yet). So instead I prayed to Fulton Sheen and asked him how he was able to resist sin. Instantly while I was praying with my eyes closed, I saw a very slight red flash of light and it immediately reminded me of the candle in the sanctuary near the tabernacle. Fulton Sheen spent a holy hour each day in the Presence of Christ. And later I learned from reading his autobiography that this was always the answer he gave. To spend time in the Holy Presence.

Sometimes answers to prayer are not instant. But when they are, it is such an encouragement.

And it is a reminder to be careful for what you pray for. Sometimes I am afraid to pray for something because I’d rather have God’s will than my own.

Oh yes! St. Anthony is a good one. My little always asks for his intervention when I lose something (which is quite a bit more frequently than I like!). Undoubtedly it is found quickly.

Anyone else? I’d love to hear more “God answers prayers” stories.

I began to have a very horrid head ach and after two days I thought I should go to a Dr, so before Ileft home I prayed to Jesus, I said "Lord I don’t know what’s going on with my health but You do so I give it up to You… The Dr took my blood preasure and looked at me and said “you should at least have had a stroke or be dead”?
What!! Straight away I had a vision of me speaking to Jesus, Jesus had taken the reaction to the stress pressure and other away from me. My blood pressure was 180 over 110.

On another occasion and the first time I prayed to a saint for help at 12yrs of age. I was going to hospital for an opporation and I had lost my $5 that I carried in a match box.
I prayed to St Anthony and right away he told me that I had made a big ditch to play in and that I should fill it in before Igo to hospital which I did and there was the match box with my money in. my first experience with a saint.
St Therese the little flower is the most prominent one for me though.
God bless

THAT’S HOT FIRE!!!

I believe in prayer very much too. It can be so strong.

actually, God answers our prayers before we even ask.
Therefore, we ask much slower than God answers. 😃

A few months ago we got word that our pastor was being reassigned to another parish. I had gotten to be quite fond of him in the past few years, so I was heartbroken. 😦 Coupled with that news was the fact that it was the beginning of the end of the school year, which is always very stressful :bigyikes: (I’m a teacher) and the fact that no replacement pastor had yet been assigned. So we knew we were losing our beloved pastor and had no clue who we were going to get.

It was like a gray cloud following me around for days - and that is normally not me. :nope: I went out into my backyard one afternoon and asked God to take care of this. :gopray: To let the reassignment be a good thing for our pastor (who was sad to be leaving us) and also to let it be a good thing for our parish, which struggles at times with attendance and finances. I also asked God to send something to left my spirits. :heaven:

I walked over to a corner of the backyard to move some branches and heard something behind me that sounded like a litter of puppies. I turned around and there in the hollow of a tree right near the ground, were a group of 4 or 5 “toddler” raccoons poking their heads out. They were SO cute. 🙂 You couldn’t help but smile. I got my camera and was able to take several pictures - one of which had 3 little faces stacked on top of each other. It is a precious picture and is my wallpaper on my computer.

When I look at it - it’s a reminder that God does hear and answer prayers.

As a postscript - our previous pastor DID end up in what seems like a better place. He hasn’t had an easy assignment for the past several years - pastoring 2 churches at one point - and always took it in stride. And our new pastor is a bit more dynamic and seems like he will at least maintain what we’ve had. And we’ve got our OWN pastor now - we don’t have to share with another parish.👍 And our previous pastor is close enough to visit when we get too lonesome for him!

So that’s my “God answers prayers fast” story!

God nevers answers my prayers fast. In fact, he tortures me (or, rather, passively stands by and watch Satan torture me). God is never there when you need him most, and certainly not there when you’re ok. The saints are crack addict idols of mankind who can’t help you. Sorry, maybe they were decent in life, but the images we have of them now–it’s too much. That’s great things fell into place for you, but the saints must have a grudge against me, if half of them really exist, or even are in heaven. Not much different from man-made avatars, as I’m discovering. Long experience reveals the Wizard for what he really is. Experience disproves pious fantasy.

Pray for faith.
