John took Mary into his home and provided for her needs. He did not kneel before her, light candles to her, sing songs and hymns about her. Johns mind was focused on Christ.

What you said is not found in the Bible, not even the KJV.

What was a certainty was that John took Mary into his home because Jesus asked him to do so. If we are to imitate the apostle surely we too can take Mary home - into our hearts. We take Jesus into our hearts too since He is not physically with us. How do we take Jesus into our hearts and our homes?

We should not put Mary at the same level with Jesus which is pretty obvious but how are we to put her in our home like John did? You know what to do, don’t you if you want to?

At the cross one of the last acts of Jesus was to give His mother to one of His disciples, John.
John who wrote 5 of the NT books never instructs or teaches to give devotion or to pray to Mary. Would not he be the one to do so?
The doctrines on Mary are clearly unbiblical.
One of the many differences between todays Catholic Church and the one of the first century.

John also does not instruct or teach on the Trinity or the hypostatic union. I guess the Catholic Church added these “unbiblical” doctrines too, right?

True. That’s what I was going to say.

Let’s also keep in mind, that it would have been highly offensive for a mother to go in with a non-relative, if she had other children of her own to take care of her. If Jesus had brothers or sisters, it would have been highly offensive for John to take in Mary.

I don’t know whether the OP missed this out or not. When Jesus asked John to take Mary into his home, it would be taking her home as his (John) mother.

We can be sure what it entails for Jesus to have someone as a mother. One of it is in the Ten Commandment - honor thy father and mother. In orther word, honor them, love them and obey them.

There is no reason not to believe that John would not have done that to Mary in obedience to Jesus.

In imitating the apostle this is what Catholics are doing, then and now. How this is unBiblical truly beyond me. In fact I find it is unBiblcal to ignore and refuse to imitate John in this.

By Johns action and actions speak louder than words… John took Virgin Mary into his home and took care of her, now this is devotion : ) So yes John had great devoiton to His Mother Virgin Mary don’t you think?

(John 6: 27) In turn he said to his disciple, “There is your Mother.” FROM THAT HOUR ONWARD, THE DISCIPLE TOOK HER INTO HIS CARE. Hisalone, the Actions/Devotion of The Discple John towards Virgin Mary is Biblical. Shame on you, to think otherwise.Please for your own good, try not anymore to bring Virgin Mary Down.

Hisalone, you should do the same as John did and take Virgin Mary thy Mother into your Heart and take care of her from people like yourself who talk bad about her.
