Soon to be Saints? India's Catholics Killed in Brutal 2008 Massacre

In the Odisha region of eastern India, in 2008 Christians were violently attacked by Hindus there, and many Catholics were tortured and killed in horrifying ways because they would not renounce their faith and become Hindus. Now, the Church in India has begun the process to make all those martyred officially declared saints.
Catholic survivors there say “Yes, they have destroyed all our property, our houses, and have killed our loved ones, but they have not destroyed our faith, and we are proud of our faith.”

I don’t even remember this, and 2008 is the year I converted. I had a lot going on that year so I probably wasn’t following the news as much as I should have. This was a real tragedy.
