In my case Autumn cleaning šŸ˜…
I’m waiting on the rain to settle the dust and send the spiders packing for most of it but began by wiping down walls yesterday .Everything needs freshening up!!

What do you start on to begin motivation ? Do you reward your self ?Does the family chip in and help?

I am purging stuff. Too much unneeded stuff filling the house. Making piles for donations, trash and my friend’s yard sale. (I mostly feel like throwing it all away, it would be over with. šŸ˜‰ )

One man’s(woman’s) rubbish is another man’s/woman’s treasure šŸ˜…šŸ™ƒ

I’ll send you my purging’s and you can send me yours .

It’s a great feeling putting out unnecessary things 😊

I was going to join Procrastinator’s Anonymous to help push me to get started. But I never got around to it.

I’m pretty sure I need everything I have, especially that empty Bath and Body Works box sitting in my office! 😊

Freshening up? I’d settle for ā€œcleanā€ šŸ˜ž

Spring cleaning to begin a week from tomorrow. (I’m really busy this week with stuff outside our home, mostly having to do with our car.) I have no idea where to start. The housework hasn’t been done properly since my knee op three years ago so there’s much to accomplish. And we’re preparing for a move. And I have to do all of this without any help. 😐

My sentiments. I would prefer to rent a dumpster and pitch, but I don’t have the last say in that. I (we) just start in one area and sort, donate, and pitch, then clean. My wife has a more emotional attachment to ā€œthingsā€ that associate with a memory or experience, so I am VERY careful.

I just start picking things up. When I begin, I don’t always have the intention of donating. I just want to get the house clean.

The donate bell starts dinging when I find something that I haven’t used in awhile or just don’t want. I look at its condition and decide whether to donate or toss. (There is no ā€œkeepā€ when I begin cleaning.)

Seeing results is my reward. I let Mama cut up address labels while I do everything else. By her own admission, cutting up labels is all she can do to help since her surgery 7 years ago. And while I can do it loads faster, I want her to feel useful and needed. And I do appreciate the help.

I made my husband go through his vinyl record collection, I already did mine. Yes, we have something to listen to them on. (But often enough to keep them all? ) I am the one that gets rid of warped old vinyl and he asks why are you getting rid of these? He put it aside again. So I put it in the trash can outside–when he wasn’t around. šŸ˜‰

We also have stuff from his office, his mom’s house, his dad’s apartment. He is worse than me.
I read in Marie Kondo’s book that you can’t clear your family’s things, just your own. You can only inspire them to do the same by your example.

Hope it works. šŸ˜‰

Yes, but dear, our son is 31 and I don’t think he will use the popcorn lawn mower he had when he was three.

I got the lawn mowed and put down some seed. My wife will start planting some flowers next week and we both gave the house a good dusting which will make room for the pollen.

That sounds so promising šŸ™‚
It’s still dry and dusty here, and the dam water will finish any day but there’s been enough to keep the garden green.
Last week I noticed a little burst of energy in the garden ,a change in growth similar to when we do get the Autumn Rains.

My problem with SpringAutumn Cleaning is how I will be busy going about house work and suddenly find myself transported into the garden .It keeps happening ! 😹

I am painting my basement walls. To do so, everything was shoved into the middle of 2 rooms. It looks like a bomb went off down there. I will be purging, donating and organizing everything there. Lots of my art supplies, papers, parts for making things…looks like junk to my husband, but it’s not. And then stuff my grown children still have there, and various things from in-laws houses. Too good to throw away, or ā€œsomeone might need themā€¦ā€
Mtatum, did you get your dumpster yet? I am ready for one too. šŸ˜‰

My wife is traveling to Texas to visit her girlfriend. Hummm… maybe I could sneak it in (or should I say out) in a week.🤭

No, I’m not particularly fond of orthopedic surgery if I did that.
