Sophomore at my university killed herself

This morning, we got an email saying that a sophomore at my school was found dead yesterday. My mom said that it was even on the news because she was prominent student athlete. I just got another email and the medical examinar confirmed that she took her own life, though, the method was not specified. This is the third student this school year that died, second by suicide. Please pray for the repose of her soul and family.

WHO COMMITTED SUICIDE.

Almighty God, our heavenly Father,
we understand that thy sixth commandment,
“Thou shalt do no murder,”
includes self murder.
But in thy divine mercy,
we beg thy forgiveness especially for this young woman,
who have been so confounded by the pressures of this life
that they felt there was no way they could continue.
Grant, we beseech thee,
that they be forgiven their terrible sin
and accepted into thy divine providence,
and that they may come to understand thy ways and thy nature.

And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

May God forgive her for all her sins, and may she enjoy the peace of Christ in His direct presence for eternity. May God also forgive us all for the times we have failed to be loving and attentive to others, and may the Holy Spirit guide us all in being more attentive and compassionate toward those who are suffering so painfully that they come to act in suicide. May we all please be guided well in recognizing the needs of others to be helped, and may we please have the discipline to let the Love of Christ flow through us and be extended richly to those who most need our love, mercy and compassion.
