Hmm. So you believe that human beings have a stage where they get treated like a person (but aren’t really yet until some nebulous time that you haven’t specifically given, let alone given as authoritative Church teaching), and then another stage where they actually ‘are’ a person.

So does that mean you believe God doesn’t create people, He creates “things which aren’t yet people but become them at some point”?

What about that Scripture verse, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you’. You know people. You don’t really know things which get treated like people but really aren’t. If you are God You form people in a womb as God whom you already know and love, you don’t form blobs of protoplasm which at some point turn into people as opposed to staying blobs and ‘not turning’.

Honestly, you sound almost Calvinistic here. Some ‘blobs’ are destined to turn into people and some aren’t, you treat them like people at all times, apparently just to be on the safe side, but until some ‘mystical time’ they aren’t ‘really’ people at all.

OK, if you haven’t read back a few posts to know this then we aren’t in the same room.

Well if you cannot tell the difference between “being treated as a person” and “actually being a person” I wouldn’t quit your day job for scholarly exegesis just yet.
🤣

Counter-example: If I should look at someone and treat them as if they have no clue what they’re talking about… doesn’t that mean that I regard them as someone who actually has no clue what they’re talking about? 😉

We are being told to regard humans as human persons from their conception. If that means that you conclude “well… I’ll treat them as if they’re persons, while holding to the conclusion that they’re really not…”, then I don’t think you should quit your day job to preach Catholic teaching, either. 😉

Have a good one, ‘young fella’.
