Upon taking an analytical, objective view of my life, factoring everything from circumstances, physical conditions, spiritual standing, and potential mental conditions, I have decided that it may be a viable option to end my journey here. Please note that this is NOT an attempt and self-destruction; If I can’t die naturally, then I won’t force it upon myself: I am still in control, and am aware of what self-destruction entails.

That is where my very special question comes in; Is it a mortal sin to ask God the Father, Jesus Christ, or The Holy Spirit, to take my life? This seems like the best possible solution for people in my current situation. I have already confessed my sins, and made it very clear to God that this is not an attempt to challenge, test, or otherwise mock Him, in fact, it’s quite the opposite; I am appealing to His mercy when I ask this, because I know that if I continue down my current path, I will go to Hell. I’ve already had multiple run-ins with both it and Lucifer in my dreams, and never once have I ever seen Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin, or Michael. I do not do witchcraft or any other shenanigans, it just kinda happens, and it’s been happening for some time now.

I just want to be saved and live eternally with the Church Triumphant in Heaven. That is my wish, and as long as I am here and God holds in His decision to not heal me, I won’t be able to make it. Yeah sure I don’t have a revelation or church statement “confirming” my soul’s fate, but let’s be honest; We can make a logical deduction.

Again, I’m not contemplating self-destruction (although I can understand those who do it); It’s illogical, unreliable, and gravely sinful–however I have lost all hope and want to get on out of here. Whatever purpose I had can be given to someone else, I just need to return home (Heaven). Besides, I probably had some trivial purpose anyways. Doesn’t really concern me; I just need to be with Jesus Christ.

As I stated before; Is this a mortal sin to ask? I honestly don’t know, but it seems like the perfect solution to hopelessness that could possibly keep people in a state of grace.

Also, if God doesn’t answer these prayers affirmatively, why not? Why would God be OK with someone using their Free-Will to commit suicide, but oppose one using their free will to ask for a “legal” way out? If God doesn’t affirmatively answer these prayers, it leans towards a view that God carelessly throws us out into the world, which is contrary to what a Father, Brother, and Master would do.

As Christ’s servant and spiritual relative, I pray to return home effective immediately. If it’s not a mortal sin, please pray with me so I can get outta here 😉 (I am in my right mind btw)

🌧️ Cloud Emoji just bcuz btw 😃

God Bless!

I don’t believe it’s a mortal sin to pray to God to end your life, but it certainly is offensive to God to do so; it is a huge sign of ingratitude towards the Creator who chose to endow you with the precious gift of life. I believe that if you’re feeling suicidal and are seriously contemplating taking your own then you would be far better off praying for God to give you the strength to overcome those urges and the resilience to endure whatever may be at the root cause of those urges. Praying for death, moreover, is a sign of lack of faith and trust in God’s will for you and your life and could potentially be considered a venial sin. I personally do not perceive it as grave enough to be considered a mortal sin, although admittedly I am not certain of what the Church’s stance on such a matter would be.

Talk to a priest about this. Not necessarily in Confession. Schedule an appointment to chat, let him know what’s going on, and perhaps he will have some good advice.

In the meantime, I am praying for you. May the Holy Spirit assist and guide you always toward faith, hope, and love.

You are focusing on the negative. Any idea why? What does doctor say?

What about the good that you might do? How do you serve Christ by not serving Him? By taking the easy way out? You think this life is miserable? Check out hell - but not while in hell. I speak only for myself, but the more you suffer, the more you will be rewarded in eternity. And, you don’t make the call. God does.

Where do you go, once it all ends?

If you do not know with certainty, don’t go.

If these are genuine thoughts, you really should speak with someone - in person. Soon.

You are focusing on the negative. Any idea why?
I’m focusing on the negative because the positive has gradually phased out of my life. Those things which I had confidence in are now wavering and faltering, my only unshaken hope is in the possibility of Heaven now.
What about the good that you might do?
And how significant do you really think one guy over the internet can be? There’s nothing I can do that someone else can’t do on an infinitely better scale.
How do you serve Christ by not serving Him?
I’ll be serving God by not dishonoring Him. It’s better to die in grace as a nobody than to become a tyrant and burn in Hell. God’s divine example of delivering souls who asked for it could also serve as a means of hope for those contemplating suicide; It’s another (perfectly reasonable) avenue of salvation.
By taking the easy way out?
Sometimes the easy way’s the only way. Not all of us are born tankers.
You think this life is miserable?
Life is a beautiful thing (for some people). My story isn’t quite as good though. God (seemingly) didn’t spare me from some of the more devastating consequences of Original Sin, so It’s best to just get out of here.
Check out hell - but not while in hell.
My dreams may not be reliable, but according to them, Private Revelations, and The Holy Bible, I know that its infinitely worse than we can ever imagine. I’m not trying to go there; I want to be saved, I believe, however, that it’s going to take more than “just muscle it out”.
I speak only for myself, but the more you suffer, the more you will be rewarded in eternity.
My sufferings are on such a personal level that they are likely invalid. More like lamentations than anything. I’m OK getting less in Heaven as long as I get there. That’s my primary goal, and I’d hope God, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, would understand that I, in my right mind and of my free will–concede that I likely won’t be saved if I continue this route and that it would be best to take me (since I nonetheless desire salvation).
And, you don’t make the call. God does.
I completely agree. You’re probably more knowledgeable than me, so do you believe God would affirmatively answer these prayers under any circumstance? Brother to Brother? Son to Father? Servant to Master?
Where do you go, once it all ends?
If the prayer itself isn’t mortal, and I am forgiven of all my sins, while I can’t make any guarantees, I’m likely in good hands 😃
If you do not know with certainty, don’t go.
I’m not trying to do anything to myself. I want God to end me. If He doesn’t, I can find some other way to spend these years.

I urge you to see someone about these thoughts A therapist or a priest would be a good start.

Oh no, the fear of becoming the antichrist or something sounds like things those with schizophrenia might say. I say make an appointment with a priest and speak to him about it.
Do not lack confidence in the Grace of God. You assume you will be condemned if you go further–why? God grants us all the Grace to not sin.
