Spider on the Pope

OH MY GOSH…that’s so creepy. IT WALKED ON HIS FACE???
Nightmares tonight for me… I hate spiders, too. Even tiny ones have to be executed, no reprieve. I keep a can of spray on my patio that has a 27-foot spray stream. It’s really for wasps but works well on spiders, too. I can knock 'em right out of their webs and if they’re big enough, there’s a very satisfying “thud” when they hit the ground…😃

I’m glad I wasn’t there with my wasp spray or poor Pope Benedict would have excommunicated me for shooting at him with my 27-foot spray…
 
Eucharisted, I think it falls into the category of a human interest story.
Not earth-shattering, no ramifications except for the potential for Benedict to have been bitten. It ranks right up there with all the fascination about Pope John Paul skiing.

Yes; it’s crawling up his left shoulder in the shot. but it’s not a very clear image, at least not on my monitor. It looks pretty much like a black spot that’s fuzzy around the edges. It’s not a tiny spider, though.

Yikes. I’m making myself feel crawly…
