I just want to add…

Don’t get paranoid and don’t be impressed with the power of the Devil or his actions in the physical world.

Keep your body strong. Do something physical that has a holy purpose and spiritual context. Keep your mind strong, get good sleep at night, relax, and don’t dwell on things.

BK
“Get good sleep.” - Sometimes Satin will not allow it.
“Keep your body strong.” - Sometimes attacks come in the form of illness.
“Don’t dwell on things” - It helps to dwell on the Lord and on prayers.

We’ve learned alot over the past few years in our family.

Satin’s attacks on me have no limits. I’ve been attacked at work, at home, at the grocery store, and even on the street while walking to my bus stop. (It’s not in my head I have witnesses.) When we had the haunting and we consulted a priest he gave us holy water and prayers and blessed salt and the whole works while both my son and I had confession with him to try to remember and make sure we’ve confessed everything. We recieved extra blessings on our bodies and recieved the holy eucharist. We prayed for breaking generational curses, curses of the occult and everything we could think of. Attacks, both physical and mental, despite all of this continued for about a year and a half and since is very sporadic but overall have dwindled greatly. When attacks happen we now accept them and offer them for the poor souls.

We learned through our priest that sometimes God allows attacks for reasons we don’t understand. Maybe for the betterment of the souls under attack or other reasons who knows. We’ve been completely and totally humbled. We or our families must be really horrible to deserve all of that. We must accept at this point that God wills it.

I agree that we shouldn’t be afraid of Satin however fear isn’t always bad. As a result of what has happened to us we fear falling out of grace and thus falling into Satin’s attacks once again. We all should have a healthy fear of this. We fear sin.

Anyway I am rambling, I agree with your note I just want to add that I do not believe in anyway shape or form that it is that easy. I also think that a little fear would do most of the world good. We all should fear falling into Satin’s clutches whether we get physically attacked or not. We should fear falling from grace.

I know my story is more dramatic that probably anyone elses on this forum but it has tought me alot. I wish God would allow all of the world to experiance these things. The world would change entirely.

I heard that Padre Pio said something to the extent that external attacks come when internal attacks or not possible.

Did you mean to say that they come when internal attacks are not possible? What does that mean? Is he not allowed to attack some people internally? Please advise.

Hey Sarah.

I read somewhere that he said the Devil attacks on the outside when he can’t reach us because we refuse him or say no to his temptations. I think someone was asking Padre Pio why demonic spirits where making noises at night. I think his reply was basically that they couldn’t cause sin so they made a fuss in the attic or something. It almost sounded like it was a good thing that the devils where making noise or acting out externally.

Of course thats not always the case. I remember someone I knew tell me once she went out with a guy who’s entire family practiced the occult. When she went over his basement and sat down in the couch the couch levitated while she was on it. The guy told her the spirit, who he claimed was at his command, was jealous that she was there. Well you and I know differently.

But I think in the context of demonic possessions of individuals or families, who have not necessarily done anything wrong, it is a test of faith, but also, a blessing to those who witness these things because it reminds them that the Devil is very real, and also that God is real. I wonder how many people who have witnessed the demonic torments of our fellow catholic in this thread and deepened his faith because of it. Also, what could God be doing through this. Perhaps strenghtening his family or children for their work ahead when the presence of the demonic may be even stronger?

I was thinking, what can we do against such things? And I realized, nothing. We have to be humble and let God take care of it. No matter how holy we are, only Jesus’s name can tame and render evil inert. I don’t know. I’m maybe just rambling.

Everything he said was true though. Ancestral chain breaking. Exorcism. Sacraments. All that stuff. But honestly, I think the holier we become, the more awaire we become of the Devil and the more he strives, especially through others who he has influence over, to harm us and cause us to despair for being Christian. Thats a tough cross sometimes.

One more thing. I read a few books on Exorcism. The only books I reccomend are the ones written by the chief exorcist of Rome. Stories of an exorcist I think is the title and the other sequel is more stories of an exorcist.

I found the book by Malachi to be distressing and I felt that it was an evil book so I through it away.

I read one book by Peck, and I was very let down by him. I thought he was naive and too curious and energized by the phonomenon itself. I felt he had no business doing that kind of research. I don’t reccomend his book because of that.

Well your last two posts have given me alot to think about. I personally liked Malachi’s book. Yes it was distressing but evil isn’t supposed to be comfortable and we found that alot of what he said is actually the truth (according to our experiances.) He actually confirmed some things we have witnessed and explained a few of them as well and helped us not feel so alone.

I am interested in reading the books you recommended though also. I will have to order them. I’ve been mostly focused on lives of saints though lately. My son and I have been reading about what they did and endured and often it makes what we seem to go through nto so bad.

What is so hard for us is that you have to endure in secret because people wont believe you anyway. There is a particular Priest who has been a God-send for us litterally and figuratively. He said he didn’t know much about such things but that we could learn together which was a greater consolation than I think even he realized at the time, however, Satan himself has worked to pull him away from us. It’s been a struggle.

One side of my family is full of Priests and Nuns and for the most part (aside from a few weirdos) good people while the other side of my family…well…lets just say that one of them was with Al Capone and there is drug use, alcoholism and so forth. I’ve wondered if the spiritual opposites of the two sides of the family are clashing in us?

My son and I have learned alot from these experiances and as a result we see patterns all around us. Patterns of demonic behavior even in the news. Honestly, we think the world is infested with these parasites and no one sees them.

What frightens us the most is that people assume that if you’ve accepted Jesus into your heart your ok, or that if you try to be overall good you’re fine.

I am telling you you’re not from experiance. You HAVE to stay in a state of grace to be ok and even then you will experiance attacks but these attacks will be obvious to you. You wont question you will know. You HAVE to go to confession on a regular basis, you HAVE to go to church, and you HAVE to try to be good. The moment we step out of grace all hell breaks loose and we have little protection. When we are in grace he can’t touch us but he torments us.

“Hostage to the Devil - the Posession and Exorcism of five Modern Day Americans” by Fr. Malachi Martin. Very good book I really recommend it talks about how Satin and his demons use our own modern sinful weaknesses to gain control over us to loose our souls. It’s a really good book because after the exorcisms he discusses what he believes, through his work, caused the possessions in the first place and where we are at risk. (Which is essentially everywhere these days.)

This book leaves you with a real sense of war against evil and it puts into perspective just how active Satin is right now. There are certain behavoirs that he says are typical of the possessed which freaked me out because I’ve seen it before. scary.
I’d be a bit leery about anything written by Fr. Malachi Martin.

You might want to read up a bit on him.

And thus your question is answered by your own reply, you are now more sensitive to the presence of evil.

Yes, society is possessed by a spirit, and it ain’t christ’s spirit. Just look in the newspapers or the side advertisements of your hotmail account, all occassion to sin, calling us into sin and spiritual death.

There are ways to be called into the army. Some join willingly and others are drafted.

I loved those books by Fr. Gabriel Amorth… In fact I just ordered the second book just a few days ago. It’s the spiritual warfare that led me to grow ever so deep in my faith.

The very battlefield is laid in our own souls. Everything we do, our thoughts, our choices… there’s spiritual battle fought there… within ourselves. What makes things worse is that it’s also in our communities… our families… friends… that we have to contend with. This way, the battlefield has stretched out. It’s withing and all around.

Each day, I try to seek newer and more powerful weapons to deal with the enemy. I don’t take this lightly (although I might be over “fanatic”, for lack of better term, sometimes :p)… that’s why my login name is what it is and I see it like this: Jesus Christ is my daimyo and I am one of his samurai.

Interesting posts… so stay close to your Mother… She always answers our prayers … She protects her children always…

Apparently it should be blessed a certain way… mine is not…I Trust in Jesus and pray to Mary every day of my existance…

St Joseph pray for us

St Joseph, terror of demons, pray for us

There is always a picture of the Sacred Heart and of the Divine Mercy in prominent places in my home…I venerate these representations of Jesus. Its good to gaze at Jesus in silence and offer him your love and devotion.

I am glad to hear that the Rosary is being prayed by many of us.

Let us pray for one another.

Hi Sarah!

As other posters have said, if you don’t already have them, obtain several blessed St. Benedict Medals. The sacramentals are very powerful. What I have read is what others have said; When Satan cannot attack internally he can attack externally. Of course, most know of Padre Pio and his regular attacks, there have been many other saints attacked physically as well. Many religious and holy people. You and your family are definitely not alone in this experience, although you are correct that it is not a usual thing to happen.

Say the prayer to St. Michael daily. There is also a novena to St. Michael that I will try to find. Say the rosary together as much as possible. The Blessed Mother is “The Terminator” as far as my experience goes. In all of her messages to us through all of her seers The Rosary was always emplored of us a lot of times with an urgency.

Sometimes I wish I could get up on my roof top and scream for people to say the rosary. (but they would just hall me away:))

You are in my prayers

Spiritual Warfare is so real…it is more real to me asit is the source of all warfare is spiritual. I have been part of a team for an exorcism blessed by the Bishop and led by 2 priests…it took well over 5 years. I need not repeat the things that have happened. I have smelled the devil, heard him for sure, he even clawed me where there were no nails. It was a harrowing experience…intense for sure in prayer, fasting and spiritual growth. It made me realize that God’s Word is alive and the devil’s word is boring and redundant. Although I had the protection of the Church over myself and my family, I was always aware of the devul’s presence. I was told that after the victime he was going to get me. Jesus Blood was more powerful as well as Mary’s mantle.

Obedience and humility are primary in any warfare. One needs to be armed and have a deep prayer life. The devil wants any chirstian’s soul but the war is waged that much more against those who have been part of an exorcism. Especially priests. But lay people are not immune. I still have things flying at me (that would do me harm) but because of the mercy of God, I am okay. I have written some other posts in bygone threads about this subject and this should never be taken lightly at all.

Some christians are just more threats to the devil than others. Those who give up self-respect and stand up for the truth even amongst loved ones, causing one to be rejected and scorned will certainly be a target. Thank God we have a God who has taken on our humanity…so we can take on His divinity! Was He not the victim of so many attacks prior to His death? We must do the same…🙂

Where do I get St. Benedict medals? I have some medals that I got from a Priest that have Mary on them, I am not sure what they are called. (I can’t read the writing on them it is so tiny.) What is the significance of this medal?

Wow i bet you learned alot from that experiance. I have so many questions for you but I will spare you all of them. How is it possible that I could be a threat? How is it possible that I was a threat as a child? I’ve always sort of assumed that there was something very bad about me to deserve such things. I am evil and so evil comes to me…I’ve cried about this and worried about it for many years… I made so many mistakes. I struggle with sin all the time. I am not holy by any means.

Sarah,

Refer to Ricardothere’s post with links to the St. Benedict Medals. I believe when I went into the site, it said you could purchase and have them blessed properly. Check it out. They are very powerful against the evil one and his powers.

The St. Benedict metal is a powerful sacramental. It has a special blessing of exorcism and is a type of exorcism itself. It can also be used in a special blessing of the sick instead of the relic of the true cross (which is hard to come by). I have the medal in a crucifix I wear amd several on a Benedictine Rosary I had blessed with the special blessing. Here is some info on the medal osb.org/gen/medal.html. You can find the medal , crucifix and rosary at most Catholic jewelry stores. Get them blessed properly by a Priest after purchase. I’ve seen medals as cheap as .25 cents. Some Catholic church’s have a bowl of them in their entrance’s. Tim

Be careful in calling yourself evil. You may be oppressed as I believe I was and still struggle with. Sometimes the Lord allows things to keep us humble to later reveal great things for us. I would talk to a Priest about your concerns and get some direction. I came under attack when the Lord broke the hold the devil had on me and since there is six of us in my family, he fought back hard. At times I can feel his presence as anger /rage stir up in me. It is a great temptation that I would not be able to handle without intervention from the Lord, Mary and the Saints. It has eased alot since I did a consecration to Mary as per the St. de Montforts way. She truely brought me to her son and watches from a distance now, guarding. I have a long way to go to be united to the Lord still and I fall often. But being able to recognize it better and cut it out of my life is my reward in being obedient. Obedience will keep you. I struggle with prayer. My prayer has been interupted so many times, I dread it. I don’t know if this is a thorn I will keep the rest of my life or not. But , when I pray anyways, it gets better as the days go by. My Priest told me to submurse myself and let the waves crash overhead. I hope you find something helpful in this. Tim

I am sorry you can feel his anger and rage stir up inside of you. I rarely get angry, mostly I get sad. I can feel that someone is angry but I don’t feel angry inside and sometimes I should. I’ve been told that I need to get mad. Wow I am really sorry you have to feel that. That has got to be painful.

As for the prayer interruptions I am sad that this happens to you. Prayer, for me, is like going home. Maybe it would help if you said little prayers ot yourself all day long? While your driving, while your working or while you are waiting on hold on the telephone. I am pretty sure the evil one can’t read our minds so if you aren’t kneeling or something he wont know you are praying and will leave you alone.

My heart aches for you. I will say some prayers for you and I really hope they help. Everyone should be able to pray in peace. That should be made law or something. Grrrrr

This anger is now very foreign in it’s approach. I can tell it is a temptation, but as my Priest reminded me, “His grace is sufficient” to overcome it. It almost is feeble at times. The prayer interuptions is a nuisance I overcome with, like you said, short verbalized prayers. Verbalizing the longer prayers helps alot, but it takes a strange kind of willpower to overcome. Like my Priest described letting it wash over me, but I have to hold my breath in a way. It takes some of my own effort combined with giving up. This tells me that it is partly from the self, like I open the door, but it is kicked in once ajar. I think it is something I can overcome with guidance and grace. This is nothing compared to what attacks I once faced. It is now only internal, when once it was manifesting in my surroundings. That has stopped for reasons only God knows fully. Don’t be sad for me, I have been blessed many times over and these things are nothing. I just wanted to share just in case someone finds themselves in a similiar situation. God Bless, Tim
