SPLC classifies Traditionalist Catholics as a Hate Group?

Maybe I am not reading it correct but is this saying anyone who prefers the EF of Mass is in a Hate Group?
Honestly, I wouldn’t worry too much what the Southern Poverty Law Center considers hate or not. It’s relatively easy for someone to end up on that list because their definition of hate group is essentially, “any group that doesn’t agree with us.”

Rubbish. There is ample evidence.

The Soviets the US sent him back to no doubt gave him an unfair trial. The Soviet’s were unfair and of course sent clerics to the Gulags just for being clerics. The US knew this. But it seems he did things he shouldn’t have, especially as a priest.

I used to really support the SPLC until they made Pepe the frog a hate symbol because Clinton doesn’t understand memes. Their continued reluctance to name antifa and black lives matter as hate groups hasn’t garnered them much goodwill outside their particular section of the regressive left

Wish I could “like” this about 1,000 times. The Pepe the Frog baloney was a new low.

The worst part was if you disagreed with that on the basis of an artist being allowed to have some say/ control in what his creation was supposed to mean (the artist publicly and credibly stated that Pepe was not intended as racist), you got called a racist yourself.

It has been a tough time to be a liberal. The regressive faction has completely devoured the rest of us, often labeling any other liberal group as alt right nazi sympathizers. They take a common liberal point like “rascism is bad”, which most people would certainly agree with, and follow it with “so we should hurt rascists and make them suffer” which is where the rest of the liberal group said “no, you can’t hurt people for having different opinions” and we were all shoved into a group where we couldn’t hurt their purist utopia

(Not to say that there aren’t nazis in the alt-right, just that a lot of different people were simply shoved in to discredit alctusl criticisms)

My friend, it would be very nice if things were so clear cut, and I pray I never get forced into a position of choosing the lesser of two evils, where decisions are life and death (including own), where I would be judged according to rules that were not in place at the time, boundaries which had been dissolved and replaced with a new world perception. The world was different back then, and it was highly complex to say the least, particularly obvious is that it was a great big chess game, with many many players.

I have noticed that almost every conservative that resents being labeled as racist with the alt-right has no objection to playing the hypocrite and doing the same thing to liberals, like saying it is a disease, or similar rhetoric. The people that are currently leading the SPLC may be said to be liberals, but it is incorrect to think all liberals are so blind to their biases, or are even biased.

i am a liberal. what i’m lamenting is that the group i saw as a comrade has turned against me in an attempt to achieve some kind of moral superiority, while their actions have been the very thing they claim to despise

To what time period are you referring to?
Not sure if you are replying to me regarding the time period, and the reasons I derive the conclusion that you may be is that your post is immediately following my own and I refer to a time period.

In the event that you are questioning my post, it is with regard to the time frame of Jozef Tizo. The time period would be WWII and the environment would be oppression, occupation, a time frame where many many many people were contextually forced into the situation to make decisions, they should never be made to make.

Honestly, I wouldn’t lose too much sleep over it. The SPLC lost credibility a while ago.

A group I belong to was classified by the SPLC as an “anti-government hate group”.

They never explained who it is we’re supposed to “hate”. We welcome minority members and are best known for defending minority owned businesses from rioters during the Ferguson, Mo. riots.

And I’m curious to know how we’re supposed to be “anti-government”, when our purpose is to call people to adhere to and defend the Constitution, which is the basis for our government.

The SPLC might have served an important purpose long ago, but it’s long since become politicized and has become parody of itself and the very thing it claims it was founded to fight.

I count it as a badge of honor to be on one of their dopey lists.

True. I just think it’s unacceptable that traditionalists are grouped with the KKK and Neo Nazis.

It’s nice to see a classic liberal on here!

Yes, I remember the high and mighty Antifa saying how libertarians, classic liberals and conservatives aren’t welcome in Boston. 🤣 And Marty Walsh did nothing about it.

I just hope that neither side dog-whistles to the extremists.

That’s the new schick though. Even if you go along with it like a loyal servant, they’ll still turn on you in the end. That’s how post-modernism works and the only way to keep it going. It’s also why I always laugh when people on here play the identity (usually race and gender) card to make a political point, and we all know what that is for.

They really have no clue what they are in for.

I used to have a “Classical Liberal” bumper sticker along with a pro-life license plate on my car. I’m sure a lot of folks were confused.

It’s amazing how people pigeonhole someone else because they expect certain stances just based on political philosophy.
