Actually Newbie, the sin is on you. You claim that the Holy Spirit is not there. I just interpreted it in simpler language. The Holy Spirit is a symbol of unity, not division. Also, if I interpreted your post incorrectly, what’s to say you could interpret the bible incorrectly?
May God have mercy on you

for what you said, or for my interpretation? In that case, if I interpreted your claim incorrectly, you possibly could interpret the Bible incorrectly, and for that, may God have mercy on your soul as well. But instead of smiting each other, why not answer my previous question in my previous post, which arises the question that you could interpret the Bible incorrectly. Thanks

The Catholic Church is the only one who can interpret Scripture. Not men like you.
You have to be kidding?
Maybe you can’t interpret scripture but to me most of it is pretty plain, except for the figurative language in prophecy and parables I just take it literally. Epistles are plain language, easy, geneologies are straight forward, history of the nation of Israel is clear. I don’t know where the problem lies.

There is no Holy Spirit!!! Would the Holy Spirit really allow for all these divisions? Everybody interprets scripture in their own words. Why do some hold to sola scriptura and others, sola fide? Again, why the divisions?
Perhaps the division comes because we believe in the Holy Spirit and you don’t?😉

Of course I could interpret something incorrectly. But sooner or later the truth would come out. One of my Christian brothers or my pastor would correct me. Or the Holy Spirit would put conviction on my heart. That is the way it works.

Excuse me but I think the words “there is no Holy Spirit” came from your keyboard. Correct me if I’m wrong. The Holy Spirit does divide. He divides truth from falsehood. If we are divided due to falsehood then you can’t presume to say the Holy Spirit is not happy with that much less presume to say that there is no Holy Spirit. Prayin for you.

But how can your brother correct you? If your fallible interpretation is incorrect, could your brother’s be incorrect as well? Also, who really receives the Holy Spirit? You? A methodist? If the Holy Spirit allows for one to see the truth in scripture, why are we fighting? Sola fide, sola scriptura, or faith and good works? 3 interpretations, one Spirit. “Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so they may be one just as we are.” (John 17:11) Is Jesus’ prayer going unanswered?

But the truth has been out for 2000 years, you just couldn’t see it all otherwise you don’t come here saying Catholics worshiping Mary.

We use scripture to interpret scripture. So my brother would use scripture to correct my fallible interpretation. The same way I used scripture to point out the unpardonable sin.
Anyone who is saved recieves the Holy Spirit.
The only way I could prove that a practice is against Gods will is to show it in the Bible.

and the part in the bible that shows that the bible is the sole authority is where again?

So…he had the authority to decide what was inspired and what was not?
The bible as we know it is the inspired
Word of God. True
We can prove that it is “God breathed” if we study prophecy.
In Messianic prophecy alone, there were over 300 prophecies that came true. Jesus fulfilled them all. Alleluia
My faith tells me that the Book is complete as it is.
God made it. I believe it. It is not a man made creation.
If God wanted other books in there, He would have put them in there. That is my faith.

Prove the inspiration of what you consider scripture.

I can interpret Scripture. I see it the way most Catholics do. There is a problem with that your interpretation because a lot of Protestants like you try to interpret the Bible in modern context. They don’t intepret the Bible in a way the authors of the Bible wrote it.

Don’t tell me you disagree with Peter. Read my signature.

I’m sorry, but it says useful, not the only thing to be used for teaching, refutation, etc. In fact, the word only or alone or any word to describe exclusive is not used at all. Sorry, not convinced. Any other verse you like to show me?
