Your quoting what is found in books, but not the Bible.
That may be so, but reason and logic are good tools to discern what is true and untrue. Hence, the Holy Trinity for example… It states in a not-so-obvious way, but in the light of faith-illumined reason, we can correctly determine that God is both One and Three. Sure, there are some parts of it that boggle our minds, but so do other things.
Anyway, my point is that implicitness can be just as good in this conversation in the Bible. Reason and faith help each other.
In any case, Revelations 5:8 is good enough to know that saints in Heaven do hear the prayers of the holy ones on Earth.
Can you show me where this appears in the Bible? (Mary hears our prayers?)
We can rightly assume that Mary is in Heaven.
Revelations 5:8 ~ Each of the elders [fell down before the Lamb and] held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones.
Pretty safe to say that those in Heaven can hear us… as the context in this chapter is in Heaven.
The closest I have found is Heb.12. Verse 1 reads, “therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easlily entangles and let us run with the perserverance the race marked out for us.”
Does this say that those in Heaven cannot hear us? If so, please educate me. If not, why post it?
You may be correct, but I also pray the Rosary, The Lutheran Rosary.
I am sure it is great.
The part which is in question , I pray, “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.” I know God hears my prayers.
This is the problem with your post: God hearing our prayers is not the problem. We all know that. The part in question is whether or not Mary hears our prayers. Either we believe that God separates his faithful from the faithful in Heaven, or He keeps them united in a transcendent, yet immanent, way.
I know God and everybody else in Heaven can and do hear our prayers.
