troubles I have with the Bible, and why I do not trust it as the word of our Creator, only as the words of men, oft mistranslated
Many think so, but it’s wrong.
The Bible is of course NOT the words of men, but inspired of the Holy Spirit.
The different translations have many reasons. Let’s forget the translations of sects though.
True translations however, the Catholic Bible Edition does differ, because it’s translators tried their best to make it understood to everyone. The more educated as the less educated. Take Children-Bibles.
They all say the same in other words.
Let’s encircle the verse in question Isaiah 1:18.
The Bible “New International Version” says
Come now, let us reason together
Yours reads:
Come now, let us set things right
German Cath. Bible:
Come now, let us reason together
Catholic/Protestant Consolidated Bible
Come and let’s see who of us is right
Lutheran Bible:
Come now, let us reason together
Good News Bible:
Come on let’s see who’s right – you or I
So you see, they all say exactly same thing.
If translated in different languages we have the same problem, since same words often mean different things; so we have to use other words.
The Bible remains “written” by God (inspired by the Holy Spirit)
You find not a single verse that tells you something else in another Bible! (except Sect Bibles).
