This is a discussion on religion, which in itself cannot always be validated by physical proof on paper. There is an element of FAITH.
St. Thomas may have had some papers when he went to Kerala, but he was still PREACHING Jesus’ Gospel. The word Gospel means “Good News”. Enough said.

Hi

My point is that if Jesus did not read NTBible, he did not read it to his disciples, he did not train anybody with this NTBible, Saint Thomas and his followers did not have it, then it is not needed anymore, in my opinion.

paarsurrey, why are u so hung up on Jesus having the need to have a written “text book” to teach by…and why are u so hung up on anyone’s Faith requiring a book to prove everything that pertains to it ???

I suggest you do a study of the indigenous people of Australia, the Aborigines, and see how long they have been around on this planet, and see if they still exist today, and see whether they have ever had anything printed to prove their own belief system

It may surprise you that they have elders who teach the tribes their faith, through spoken word, and these are passed down for centuries

Yet ask an Aboriginal today where his Bible is, and he will look at u oddly, for he just knows his faith exists
through spoken teachings passed down to him

You seem to lack an incredible sense of world knowledge and history and language, and that is why you cant seem to understand the Christian Faith at all

I was surfing for Saint Thomas Christians on the internet; I came across “Goa Inquisition” en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goa_Inquisition

One could see that Saint Thomas Christians had not been well treated by the Catholics and the Catholic Clergy.

I give here an excerpt from it:

Goa Inquisition

The Goa Inquisition was the office of the Inquisition acting in the Indian state of Goa and the rest of the Portuguese empire in Asia. It was established in 1560, briefly suppressed from 1774-1778, and finally abolished in 1812[citation needed].

The Inquisition was established to punish relapsed New Christians – Jews and Muslims who converted to Catholicism, as well as their descendants – who were now suspected of practicing their ancestral religion in secret. In Goa, the Inquisition also turned its attention to Indian converts from Hinduism or Islam who were thought to have returned to their original ways. In addition, the Inquisition prosecuted non-converts who broke prohibitions against the observance of Hindu or Muslim rites or interfered with Portuguese attempts to convert non-Christians to Catholicism.[1] While its ostensible aim was to preserve the Catholic faith, the Inquisition was used against Indian Catholics and Hindus as an instrument of social control, as well as a method of confiscating victims’ property and enriching the Inquisitors.[2]

Please don’t be angry. If there are peoples and tribes in the world who claim for centuries that they are physically from Jesus’ lineage; I find no reason not to accept it. What benefit does accrue to them from this claim?

Can you claim being a son of a person who is not your father? Nobody would do it.

I think you understand my viewpoint. You may differ with me in peace and with reasons; no compulsion.

I love Jesus and Mary as I do love Buddha and Krishna.

St Thomas, is the one who stuck a ‘stick’ at the front of his church and prayed to God to please NEVER let the sea pass the ‘stick.’ During the tsunamis of 2006, his prayers were answered and the tidal waves spared his church!

I hope you mean Dominicans :p.

That was a terrible crime committed by a country, not a religion. They punished non Portugese Catholic priests and Indian Catholics too. It was a means of social control rather than a religious act.
