You’re all making me "home"sick. (I only lived in the area for a couple of years but miss it dearly!)

No trip out there is complete without spending time in prayer at the Shrine of Monte Cassino.
 
A friend of mine once brought back some bourbon-infused fruitcake from an Eastern Catholic monastery up in Michigan. Supposedly, each fruitcake is infused with an entire bottle of bourbon.

But I’m getting off-topic. 😄
 
Just got some great news, I had spoke with a Sister last week and she encouraged me try and to attend the upcoming retreat Contemplative Living that will be this weekend.
I inquired but there was no room left and over 17 people on the waiting list. They said it would be held again in the fall though if I wished to attend then.

Went to morning Mass and happened to think about it, and lo and behold this morning got a call from the Abbey asking if I wished to attend!
They said there was no room at the guest or retreat house but I could stay at Anselm Hall next to the the cathedral!
I gladly accepted and am going for my first retreat this Friday!

Truly very happy and excited right now…
