I wrote that as post hoc analysis, and yes I lied and I apologize for that – sort of. I don’t apologize for you being tweaked, but for calling attention to the fact that I was aware it might have. I will refrain from predicting when what I write is going to give you trouble, because if you have a sense of humor about any of this it is not discernable to me so there is really no point in my protecting you from my opinions except to acknowledge in advance that I am not anticipating your buying into what I’m saying. I apologize for thinking you are so sensitive that you need my protection, while still suggesting that you keep me in a constant state of confusion by your way of evading and dodging question. And let me note for the record, that you did here, too. You did not address the content of my post but only the style so if you’re going to lecture me on posting, then please refrain from making posts which add no actual content to the conversation, but are intended to call me down for my style.
So from now on, I would appreciate if you would direct your comments toward the topic at hand, and refrain (especially on a “Christian” forums) to make ad hominem negative posts about how I post, unless you at least put SOMETHING in your post about the actual conversation. If you can’t do that, then I will choose whether to ignore all your posts and/or block you. (I assume this forum has that funcion, although never before was I tempted to use it – so you are actually very “special” to me.) Yes I am addressing you personally so if you don’t like it, you may report this post as “abusive” to the mods, and let them handle it – meanwhile I’ll try to learn the lessons of Jesus and “turn the other cheek” and quit trying to “fix” you because clearly it is outside my power to do so. Only God can get through our shells sometimes, and I have to trust in His plan whether to do so or not with either you or me. But I still suggest you consider contemplative prayer, which achieves “real union” with Jesus (according to CCC not just me) so that is my last suggestion for you personally. Unless I get tweaked by you again and lose any pretense of self-control like I am here.
Arguing with someone who keeps shifting the focus away from the topic at hand and placing shifting emphasis almost as if you intend to show I am wrong regardless of what I type, reminds me of the words of Jesus in Matt 23:24b, “You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.”
I cannot promise not to tweak you, because most of the time I do I was not intending to and had no idea that it would tweak you so basically if I actually tried to understand your point of view which is like trying to hold a handful of water without a cup.
This time I wrote it to emphasize that there is a human experience that I believe Jesus refers to as “the kingdom” that is not rooted on Christian beliefs but in human nature, made in the image of the divine. This is the True Self that we must find, by getting rid of the “bushel baskets” that cover out Light, that part of us that was made in the image of God.
Then I realized – oh my now she or others will say I’m equating Buddhism with Catholicism, because I compared the religions as if they were pointing to the same truth and Catholics (especially fearful and/or argumentative ones IMO) so I might as well acknowledge it and get it on the table. And as I might have predicted (but didn’t because I tried to fool myself that you would be understanding that I was trying to convey empathy and understanding that you may not agree) you triggered on that and ignored the entire substance. I’m seeing this as a pattern now, so I will henceforth recognize that you have No Sense of Humor, so don’t try to “keep it light” with you. I’m be serious from now on. Here’s my “serious face” just for you: :frighten:
So once again, the “kingdom” Jesus talks about is not based on knowledge, beliefs of particular dogma, or even being a Christian. This is the healthy condition He calls us all to get our minds into, so that we may actually comprehend a taste of what it means to see things as they are as opposed to the way we’ve been taught to react. And since we’ve all been told different stories about what Catholicism really is and requires, if we go “na na not listening” and then shift the topic when others don’t say something we approve of, then we insulate ourselves from the Body of Christ and are trying to go it alone based on our personal biases.
And please, don’t give me some jive about how I’m a nice person, then paint everything I write as problematic – it would be actually useful if you would break open your “tough guy” shell (Caution: I don’t know whether you are actually a “guy” or not so I used the phrase metaphorically) and talk to me on the level and not placating, manipulating, or sending into confusion so that you may scold me for reacting in an “unsuitable” way. :tsktsk:
If you are sorry that I don’t buy into apparitions in general, and that what I hear from them I filter through my understanding and intuition based on what I’ve learned from Jesus and other teachings, and that it is entirely not required by the Church to believe it at all, then I am sorry that you feel sorry. I hope you feel better soon, and I’m apologize for trying to keep it from coming between us. :imsorry:
